I'm starting to believe this might be a DISINFORMATION campaign of sorts. I'm thinkin' ol' Dougster is sitting around his pool, eating caviar, wearing the latest fashions, and talking to his crews on the cellphone, all the while, yankin' our chains about this "poverty" thing. Come on Dougster, 'fess up!
Oh Good Lord Junk!!! From your lips to God's ears!!! :D

You still-married, rich, successful folks have no idea!!! To borrow from Jack Nicholson speaking in "A Few Good Men": You couldn't handle the truth of my situation! Trust me: To be laid off after age 55 and unable to find decent paying work for over a year now is no picnic. My struggling little tractor & backhoe business may be loads of fun and very good for my physical and mental health, but it ain't even close to paying my bills yet and I'm still down over 85% from my former income. On top of everything else, I'll be forced to sell my home and move in 18-24 months by an exploding 5/1 ARM mortgage that cannot be refinanced with my reduced "dirt-poor" income. :(

You are only seeing or hearing the tip of the (Poverty) iceberg here. Please don't get me really going here or you'll truly come to regret it.

Hey, 15% is still a hundred and fifty grand a year ! That ain't bad money, even in your state !

Farm, don't you worry about Dougster..... Massachusetts has a VERY generous entitlement program ! Even those who don't work down there live very well.

Its Wayne i'm worried about..... if he is having troubles, he may actually starve !

Oh Goodness... ... Your numbers and analysis are just plain silly. Taxachusetts is killing me, not helping me. Escaping to New Hampshire will be the silver lining in this current hideous dark cloud.

Wayne will be fine. He is just taking a few lessons in basic frugality from the absolute, undisputed master!!! :D

Jim, can you fire yourself ???
Add this up guys: Hideous divorce + 25 years of Taxachusetts-style alimony and child support + medical costs + kid college costs + declining industry/specialty + horrible new child boss + layoff at 56 = Current Dirt Poverty

Almost 4 years ago, seeing the writing on the wall, I made a very hard decision to dump a mortgage that would have instantly destroyed me in a lay-off situation and accept a mortgage that would at least keep me in my home for 5 years no matter what. I called it my "survival mortgage." I actually lasted a bit longer than I expected in my job, but the new child boss and lay-off finally came. Now I am approaching the end of the affordable part of the survival mortgage and will be forced to sell out and move. I have no regrets whatsoever. It did it's job and I am better off for it. I need to get out of Taxachusetts anyway. The socialist "moonbats" have absolute rule here now. It is not the America I once knew or my home anymore. :(

I know. :( Howie is the man! But he couldn't wait 2 months. He got too greedy and a little too cute too fast and also got the wrong legal advice. Now he is stuck between a (legal) rock and a hard place.

And now they are saying it could be up to a whole year before we have him back on the air again.
