I have it on excellent authority that New Hampshire is a peanut butter friendly state!civesnedfield said:You do know that the do not allow peanut butter in NHSo I hope it is a good paying job, either that or you are going to have to find something else to eat.
No I also hope that you will share your employee discount with all your friends

And I think something could be arranged in the way of a discount... for those "friends" who don't make fun of my eating habits!!!![]()

If you've seen one, you've pretty much seen them all. Inventories (and inventory control) vary a lot... but otherwise they're pretty much the same. The advantage of Merrimack: Brand new, clean, well-stocked (except for 3-point), nice folks... and NO SALES TAX!!!civesnedfield said:But somebody has to do it Dougster. If the store in NH was closer I would take a ride there. The only one I have been in to date was the one in Griswold. It kinda reminds me of a Paris Farmers Union on steroids. I was impressed with some of the parts and misc items they carry though.
I know the Ductster... and the Ductster will suck up for nifty good discount!Ductape said:Well..... since i've never been in any other TSC, i figure them having 10 impliments is exciting to me. Especially if 3 or 4 are actually sized for my tractor. I'm not sure i want to be sucking up to Dougster to get my discount !!! Aaawwww....... what the heck !! Dougster, i'll suck up! With all the tax money you'll save, you'll be gaining some weight Dougster. You'll be putting ramen noodles on top of your PB sandwiches! But.... not for very long. I'd say that at the rate we're going up here, you'll be getting taxed back to PB on a single slice within five years.
Believe me, I understand what you're saying. It is nice to have a simple, inexpensive local option. I think you'll be even more pleased once the Merrimack store is fully stocked. Not sure I believe the line that there is an actual company-wide shortage of implements. I just think they are being highly cautious about building up stock too high in this new store going into the fall season and... ugh... winter! Who wants to buy an implement that's been entombed in snow all winter... or even worse: covered with and corroding from salt dust from the nearby major road. Given the situation I saw in Enfield, CT last spring, I can tell you that it is not a pretty picture. Few folks want to pay anything for a faded, rusting mess.Ductape said:Its not that looking at ten impliments excites me.... what excites me is having a place that sells decent quality impliments at 1/2 or 2/3rds of what i'd pay @ my local dealers. Up my way a no-name brand PHD (international?) is over eight beans. A KK @ TSC is 5 & some change. A "G" for a 48" KK tiller, versus close to 2G's for something comparable around home. I know these prices can be had online, but its just nice to be able to drive somewhere and touch them. If i'da had my trailer with me..... i may have brought home a brush cutter!
I don't know what Enfield ever did with the salt-saturated, heavily-corroded implements they had leftover after last winter. Maybe they did have a big sale because they weren't there last time I checked. Enfield has a particularly nasty problem with their yard's very close proximity to a heavily-salted major road. I'd never seen anything like it before.Ductape said:That would smell like a sale to me ! You are right though.... no one is going to want to pay full price for rusty, used looking impliments sitting in the yard. I guess thats why i was so surprised... i really didn't expect to see another load of stuff come in before winter. Good for TSC, i say !
Hi Reg - I beat you to the only 72" KK tiller they had in stock anyway. I was there the first weekend they opened (Aug 18th) and snagged it. Same discounted price you paid. I had to wait a long time for the PTO drive to come in (It was missing when I bought it) and just picked it up last week.Reg said:WHERE in Merrimac? TSC still doesn't list ANY stores in New Hampster on their web site. DANG, if I'd known when I bought that tiller a week ago )-:
Oh Brother!!!JerryK said:If the Dougster's mighty castle, waaaaaaay up on that hill overlooking the meer common folk, wasn't so many states away.....I'd cruise over and meet that uncommon wife of his that allows all this 'buying of the essential stuff' and 'visiting of the promenent Tractor Suppy Stores' in all the neighboring states. Maybe bring my wife and take notes.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dougster said:Come to think of it, you're right! Scott was the "manager" I dealt with. So who is this Mark Fegley who is making all these statements as store manager in the local papers? An impostor???

Incidentally, I notice that TSC is online as we speak seaching for a "store manager" for the "Manchester, NH" area. Hmmmm... I could do that job!![]()

Oh good... so no imposter.WayneB said:Mark transfered here from Western New York store with his family so I don't think he will be moving on too soon. And he is the head guy at the Merrimack store.
Bet the payments are a lot higher than on my 1998 "ARE"!!!Reg said:I'm THERE... In less than no time, as soon as I climb aboard my "Gentleman's Express" and climb off it again SO FAST !!!
