I will update the thread when I hear something from the dealer.
As far as batteries... I just want something that will last longer than 2 years. I'd love to get 8+ years of use!
Mike, look into the DEKA batteries, you`ll be glad you did.

Personal experience...???? lol... uhhhh no, no BS my friend.
Yeah, tell me about 40+years turning wrenchs for a living in dealerships AND (STILL) owning my own shop, yeah, plenty of experience.
And yes, i WAS, an interstate battery dealer, until i got tired of customers coming back with bad batteries, and interstate`s warranty sucked.
I wouldnt come in here to say interstate batteries were great if they wern`t...TRUTH. If your a fanboy of them, GREAT, some of us are not, for good reason.
And a MasterTech for each: GM - Dodge - Honda, is that enough experience...???
Dont mean to pull the thread off course, but i felt i needed to defend my statement when someone calls BS.
I didn't make any assumptions. I made a sarcastic comment about you having crappy batteries if you have to use that many tenders to keep things charged up. You're the one with 16 batteries attached to tenders, etc., not me. Most of my batteries get used fairly regularly, and a lot just sit waiting for my use, with the exception of my boat which is totally seasonal, and has its own specialized marine grade charger attached to the wall when not in use. I don't have but one original Battery Tender full size to occasionally bring a battery up to full charge. And I too have around 16, in my case, (Interstate batteries), in various vehicles, as I previously stated.
I can't help you with how Canada deals with Interstate warranty issues, that's a whole 'nother country, and how they do business is their thing. Doesn't reflect, from my POV, one way or the other on things here in the US.
I never said Interstate was the only game in town; but if the OP is replacing his battery every two years he needs to step up to a better brand. Interstate is one of probably a number of excellent brands that makes and sells batteries that can easily last more than two years, especially if one uses a tender to keep it topped off when not being used regularly.
You have a problem with your experience with one vehicle used in another country, and therefore won't buy any more Interstate batteries; your choice, (you say you were 'screwed' on warranty), but it has no relevance as to the quality of their product, nor does it have anything to do with my having been a dealer at a certain point in time. And I never said that Interstate was anyone's gold standard, even for me; I just have had good service from them since the 1980's.
If you have that many batteries maybe you should open a shop and become a dealer of some brand of battery. You still haven't said what brand you now swear by. I'm feeling so enlightened now...:confused3:
Guys can we keep the "Interstate Battery Love/Hate Debate" out of this thread please?
Take your personal vendettas elsewhere as they do nothing to help the OP with his fault-finding.

Ok guys, lets not take this any further than it already is, this is pointless,
lets see if Mike gets his tractor fixed and hopefully he`ll let us know what fixed it.

Phew! At last!!
:wrench:
Well hope for the best, but prepare for the worst, gettin that dreaded phone call always makes me cringe.
update....
The wires under the dash / behind the ignition switch were chewed off. I've been slack on putting out mice/rat killer. ****. I'll re-double my efforts asap.
Rats are usually a winter problem here, not summer. Painful lesson learned.
$309 so far... now for the leaking seal at the front tire hub.... First time I have had to send it to the dealership for a repair since I bought it. Fingers crossed that I get it back this weekend yet!
RATS! literally.
Thanks for the follow-up report.
I'll refer you to Post #20. You probably didn't need a battery or the trip into town with the starter motor.
Tracing the power from battery up to Ignition switch you would have found your 'chewed wires'. The headlight wire you already found was a clue.
Rats are a year-round problem.
Glad you're up & running. The hub leak is something you can do at home also.

M-I-L's stacked washer/dryer quit agitating. Based on the "helpful diagnosis" videos on the appliance parts websites, the most likely culprits were either the "agitator drive block" or the belt. Well, you can't even see the belt without disassembling the cabinet, so wife bought a $30 drive block. Which turns out to be frozen on the transmission shaft so hard that it literally had to be chiseled off. Didn't change the problem at all. So disassembled front of cabinet to check the belt.
Immediately noticed a chewed, burnt end of a wire dangling down from the lid safety switch. D*mn mice had somehow climbed up inside the cabinet to the little ridge where the top meets the sides. Guess we were lucky it was only one wire. And lucky that no one got electrocuted while the frayed ends dangled and danced around inside.
A kitty would have prevented that.
I have had a farm for 14 years... I've had a cat for 2 months, and now I have a problem with vermin! lol
