I have been using a hard wired trickle battery charger for a couple years. Batteries with an 18 month warranty, last about 25 months for me. I wish I could get a long lasting battery!

My local Kubota dealer is busy and can't do anything until Friday at the earliest. So I have tomorrow to give it another look. They did ask about the fuse by the starter. I've never noticed that, so I will look for it tomorrow.

Most of those 60 or 70 amp main fuses are in front of everything except the starter (which is wired directly to the battery) So no.... That fuse is likely still good as you have lights. WE are assuming all other electrical functions are normal, instruments, lights, glow plug circuitry etc.

I was a selling dealer for Interstate brand batteries for years when I had my foreign auto repair/sales shop. They still make excellent batteries and I don't see why you shouldn't be able to find them in your area. I prefer what are called Battery Tenders as opposed to battery trickle chargers. They approach the charging of a battery differently, and I believe, though don't have prove positive that they are better overall for the life of a battery.
Check them out: link to one seller~ I have this model and have had no problems with it. I've had it for many years....

Yes, those battery tender brand of "battery tenders" are an excellent product, and I have owned several for years. They have a good warranty also, as I collected with a new one when one of mine failed several years ago. They are a multistage charger, with bulk, absorption and float modes. I even have one of their solar charge controllers on my little 20 watt solar panel. The below link explains the differences between them and a simple trickle charger

Thanks for the tips. I'll have to check to see what I have currently. It is a mounted charger that I installed close to the battery. The plug in cord was fed through a gap in the battery area. It charges, but shuts off when fully charged. I don't think it is a tender as you 2 pointed out.

It's 40 miles to a tractor supply co. When I need a battery, it has always been right now, and not wanting to spend half the day on a road trip to find one. lol I guess I should mark my calendar for 24 months from now to look for an interstate battery :)

Off the top of my head I think I have about 15 Interstate batteries going in various vehicles, boat tractor, various mowers, UTV and 4 Toyotas. Some are AGM, and other's are lead acid, but they all serve their use/vehicles very well. Fortunately I still get a deep discount as a prior selling dealer, which I didn't find out about until I'd already bought most of my current 'inventory' of batteries. Better late than never I guess....:confused3:
