That sounds great. It's a tractor without all those unneeded fancy electronic controls a tractor that works when you need it. I'm jealous!! thanks for the info Utopia. I did find out I can order one with industrial tires though.

Oh, one More item. The dash board on the T4.75 gives a constant digital voltage reading on the battery!

So far this tractor has been a dream. Around 60 hours on the unit and no problems so far. I used a middle buster plow, disc harrow and front end loader two weeks back to deepen a 120' drainage ditch in front of my barn and everything went smoothly. This unit weighs substantially more than the Boomer 3050 I traded in and with the extra HP I was able to move the dirt quite easily. I also used the disc harrow and a tooth harrow to smooth out 8 acres in the Pecan Orchard with no problems at all. Spring is right around the corner for us this far South and temps. will be in the 70-80's F this week so to I have to get this dirt work done before the grasses come out of dormancy. Local fruit trees are in bloom so we are crossing our fingers for no more frost. Though we had a dreary and cloudy January we have only had 3 nights below 32F this winter which is normal many Winters on the Texas Gulf Coast.

My only disappointment with the T4.75 is that I will not be able to do much maintenance on my own as I have with past tractors. The rear brackets for the FEL, AC hoses and front wall of the cab are so close together it is impossible to get to the oil filter and 2 of the fuel filters without some major disassembly of the unit. I can see the oil filter through a 2" gap between all the mechanisms and there is no way to even get a filter wrench into the area without major work first. I am fortunate that I easily have the funds to have the maintenance work done by the dealership but old habits die hard. My wife always teases me that I'll spend two hours of my time to save a dollar!

Thanks for the reply Utopia.

When you say "major disassembly" do you mean removing the loader brackets to change the oil and fuel filters or do the air conditioner hoses need to be removed also?? If we purchase one we will have to do as much of the maintenance as possible as we are over 3 hours away from the dealer. We're still looking and at different brands as well now. We want a tractor with no electronics any where and/or need for dealer computer to repair the tractor. Tired of all the electronic problems.

I wish that were the case here. The storms keep coming another foot+/- today and it's currently around 28 degrees. The forecast right now is for at least two more large storms one Thursday and another Sunday and single digit temperatures the end of the week. One weather person said until the jet stream moves the storms will continue every 2 to 3 days. We probably have in excess of 3 to 4 feet on the ground now with much higher drifts even after some melting from the last three storms. If the next couple of storms are as bad I not sure where I'll put the snow. Do you want some?:)

Sorry, I don't need any snow here. It would get in the way of polishing up the water ski's and golf clubs for this next weekend! :)

I do not think there are many, if any, tractors made currently without some sort of electronics on board. Though the T4.75 electronics are minimal compared to the Boomer 3050 the exhaust system and dash board etc. are all electronic whether one likes it or not. Tractors are like new autos and trucks where everything internal is run by a computer chip. I assume you would need to find a older tractor in good shape to just get back to mechanical running parts.

I have even crawled under the T4.75 to see if there was room to get to 3 of the filters and cannot figure out how they can be removed without unbolting the rear FEL bracket first which I assume weighs over 100 pounds. If this is a deal breaker for you I would specifically ask the NH dealership before buying unless someone at your location has the hands of a 6 year old. No kidding, everything near the oil filter and some of the fuel filters is packaged right next to each other. Engineers in charge of designing these units should be made to change out these parts on the prototypes before the final design is approved!

I used to do all regular maintenance on our Ford 8N, Ford 2000, Ford 3000 and MM-M5 but now........

Could you expound a little on the 3050's computer alarms, etc.? I found a low priced 2013 3050 and was wondering what you thought about the 3050's operation. I'm used to a TC45D which has a hydrostatic transmission and a not so computerized tractor. I understand that the CVT transmission is more efficient than the hydro.

Thanks

Check out my thread 3050cvt update and others by Utopia Texas. I had many problems (power steering, pto, forward/reverse sticking, computer lockups to mention some)with the 3050 to the point I traded it at a great loss to get rid of them! Might be why you found one for short money. You will need a dealer with their computer to do any computer/electronic work on it(as NH won't let out their proprietary software or connectors). If you have a TC45D HST my advice is to invest your money back into it and keep it. We would have been better off keeping our 2002 TC45DA 3800hrs (it was a great little tractor just tired) and replacing the tired HS transmission. It would have been much cheaper and we would have had a much more reliable tractor then buying the new 2013 3050cvt(it was a nightmare).

I had the same tractor a 3050. It was good but once we moved to a larger hilly property it was no longer useful. I'd always wanted the T4.75 and my dealer put together a wonderful machine. I could have written this post word for word including how the boss approved the purchase. In 6 months it has 115 hours. Love it love it love it!
