PJ Dump Trailers; Trailers For Less

18-20' length. dovetail is not really a feature im looking for. (thinking more like 20')

5K axles, 8 bolt wheels.

8K of equipment/car with an 1500lb trailer (give or take) = 10K GVWR

tow vehical, 3/4ton-1ton (10-15K towing cap)

FYI my 85 C30 chevy with dump bed weighs 6250 empty (says scales at the grain elevator in town) I had a total weight of 11K lbs with the load of sand for the above ground pool project. (wet sand is H E A V Y, i estimate it was just over a yard of sand)

Well I'm in Wa. state so regional prices may be different. I just looked at that PJ but with steel deck, 18' dovetail with ramps, black diamond plate fenders, 10,400 GVWR, 4d ring tiedowns, sidewind drop-leg jack. They said the trailer weight was 2400lbs, priced at $3995.00.
I have been trailer shopping also, and have looked at many trailers the PJ's (even though it is put together in Mexico) seems like a well made unit. The other trailer I like on paper is the H&H but I have to go into Canada or Montana for the closet dealer.

If your in the StLouis area check out Jerry James in Sikeston Mo we have one of their tilt decks with 7K axles and it has held up very well to a lot of abuse. Also in Buffalo il a compay named Trouters? makes some very good trailers with dexter axles a little pricey but very heavy built. Best luck. I would look @ 7k axles if you ever rent excavators or trenchers & need to haul them.

I bought a Jerry James trailer new in 2004. Its 18'x74" and had used tires, brakes on one axle, spare tire, and a wood deck. It is a 7,000# unit with 5' removable ramps. The wiring and paint were not the best but I only paid just over $1000 for it. I got 8 to 10 thousand miles out of the tires before replacing and I have since rewired it. I still only have $1250 in it and it has been great. I used it to haul furniture, tractors, even a Suburban.

I am guessing that trailer through Jerry Jones would be no more than $2500, with PJ it will be $3500 or so.
