In all seriousness. Thank you for posting this mistake. No one got hurt and its a friendly reminder to us all as spring approaches to take a step back and be careful. Accidents happen. We are all learning and reminded together.

Ok got the quote back from the dealer and it was picked up by KTAC. So yes KTAC does cover stupid.

.
$3000 in parts, $500 in Labor Thank God I had KTAC. I'm not the kind of guy to make claims and hated doing it, I have also paid through my teeth for insurance for "just in case" well this time I guess I got lucky. So who won dinner? I promise to keep the chainsaws locked up.

Wow, I was way off. Good to know KTAC picked it up!

Ok my Kubota arrived back on Thursday. The dealer did an great job putting it together. Here is the parts list, it was too lengthy to type so I took some pictures.

Rod, look at it this way, you gave us all something to think about, and you did a good job documenting everything.

Wow. $2.37 for a flange hex nut?

I've bought my share of Kubota parts over the years and noticed it seems that the little stuff is expensive and the big stuff is relatively cheap. For example, the little plastic drain screw on the bottom of a a fuel filter was--I recall--nearly $5. I had expected 35 cents. Yet a PTO shaft that I bent (long story) cost $150 (?) when I was braced for $450 or so. Maybe I'm wrong or don't have a wide enough sample but that's just something I noticed. I'll add that of all the makers, Kubota parts are an absolute standout in quality.

I lost a small black plastic catch on an engine side panel on my L3540 and the piece was over $15.00 - ridiculous. The retainer that held it, and is what failed was $0.44 - reasonable. A zip tie will replace both pieces.

The good news is that you rarely need to buy parts. Well, short of dropping a tree on one.

Other makers are the same on pricing with the exception that, while the small stuff is expensive the big stuff is breathtaking expensive.
