Last week I rented a 24 inch auger attachment to plant eighteen 6'-7' Norway spruces as a screen on my property. It definitely made a back-breaking job laughably easy.

The Kentucky clay that I was digging into can definitely be challenging for any machine, (with the occasional large flagstone rock encountered, as well), but the Toolcat performed admirably.

Very nice! It is so fun to see prgress photographs of tools in action. I remember when my husband and i planted donated bushes. We had to dig them out of the neighbors, and then dig the holes and plant them on our property. Just look how easy it is to do with a tool like a Toolcat.

CRJCaptain/Dean,
Nice to have that auger dig right in front you with Toolcat's front attachment carrier. Looks great. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Have you had a chance to use either an auger unit with smaller auger bits or a post pounder to do any fence work yet? I have other projects first, but I'll be looking into the best attachments for fence work using my Toolcat at some point.

Hi Dean,
Great photos! Just out of curiosity, what pallet fork did you get?

Great photos and nice project. I will be doing the same sometime next year to create a living snow fence for my driveway.

Brian, I haven't done any fence work yet, but the plan is to eventually get some horses, at which point I'll be putting in a Kentucky split rail type fence. I watched a neighboring farmer put one in using a skid steer and a 9" auger I think. The Toolcat is an ideal fence building machine. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hi Rolando

I'm using the Bobcat 42" forks...a great multi-purpose tool.
