Tresspassing Slob Hunters, Part II

I am still racking my brain as to the town. Almost there. Whereas I realize that my friend often embellishes the facts, I have no doubt that he is in fact, some kind of "Sheriff". I don't think they call Mall Cops that.

Here, we have "Sheriffs" that again, I don't even know what they are, but they are the ones that lock up properties for foreclosure and such. Maybe, he's one of those.

In the US, Sheriff most often refers to the County Sheriff which in most places is the chief law enforcement, but we have the City of St. Louis Sheriff whose duties are limited and separate from the St. Louis County Sheriff.

In some locations we have Parishes in lieu of counties and Commonwealths in lieu of states, so if you're not from here it can be confusing.

Wish I could post some pics, but don't want to violate his privacy.

I don't even remember if it's selective fire, but I don't think so, and that's a VERY BAD THING!

TOTAL opposite here.

A friend in PA is a "Sheriff", whatever that means and drives his own car and carries his own weapon! He is one of those people that are just hoping for a violent confrontation. He does, or used to be involved with combat pistol competition and has a 50 cal belt fed mg. Probably carries it around in the trunk of his car, just in case!

Actually, it depends on the state your in and the laws of that state. Vermont and New Hampshire are both open states. Where your pretty much welcome to enjoy out door activities and pretty much go any where you please within Reason on some one else's property. The term being within reason, and if the land isn't posted. This includes, hunting, fishing, hiking, cross country skiing, ect....

It doesn't mean that if someone is acting like an a## you don't have a right to call the law on them, or ask the person to leave.

You don't activity hunt in someone's live stock pen, pasture with live stock in it, or next to the home or barn. The way those two states are, unless your property is posted, you are allowing folks to use your property for out door activities. It's pretty much ingrained in the culture up there and expected.

No it doesn't.

I replied to the fact that he trespassed because he *assumed* the laws in his new state were the same as his previous state (i.e. a state you are trying to discuss (i.e. where "trespassing" is legal).

There is simply no excuse to trespass while hunting in this day and age as dftodd described in his post #26 which I bolded.

I believe with police there are some(very few) great, most are ok, and the rest are playing Pokemon or sleeping. I'm not sure about underplayed. They can retire with great benefits younger the most get to go on there first cruise. We need more game wardens

Notice the barrel isn't even glowing in the darkness of the trunk. I cry fowl! I have had mini 14 barrels you could light a cigarette off of with fewer rounds fired.

I heard testimony at the Massachusetts State House to the effect that no hardwood saplings have grown in the Western part of the state since 1999: the deer eat everything. They also spread Lyme disease ticks, which is a very nasty and debilitating disease.

Hence their nickname, "Long-legged rats."

We've got a state park here, Potato Creek SP, that at one point, there were so many deer that there was pretty much ZERO plants and trees from the ground up to about 6-7' high. You could see right through the forest. The deer ate everything. You'd see herds of 60-70 skinny deer running through the park. Its only a 6 square mile park, about 2 of which are a lake, and they estimated a couple thousand deer in there. About 10-15, maybe 20 years ago they started a deer thinning program in the state parks and that has really helped. Now you only see a few deer, like you should. The forest now has new trees and shrubs growing and its thick and lush. There were just too many of them.
