Ed,
Forum threads and posts don't contribute anything to the membership when all that you have offered up and opinionated upon are to date based on nothing but generalities with no given specifics. You made a point now back it up with detail.

I'm sure they are and I'm glad you like yours.

When I posted over at RedPower about my wife's operation buying the first non-Red tractor in over 70 years. The response I got back was that JD and CaseIH engineers need to spend some time in the seat of a Kubota. I realize that this doesn't address your NH directly but after looking at nearly everything out there I'd say it pretty much sums it up for about all of the other brands. She could have afforded the JD, the most expensive of what she looked at, but chose the Kubota because it was hands the easiest and smoothest operating one of them all. Believe me when I say she's not brand loyal, 3 years ago she bought a new JD 448 Round Baler, last year she bought a new JD BD1108 Grain Drill and a new New Holland 256 Rollabar Rake with Dolly Wheels.

Sorry, I found your post funny. The seat in my Kubota is garbage. The seat in my Case-IH which cost 1/3rd the cost is exceptional. Their both vinyl mechanical seats.

Overall I am not overly impressed with my Kubota. It was better then the Case-IH and New Holland vineyard tractors but I believe strongly Deere has the best overall tractor in that category. Kubota dropped the ball in the area it mattered most, inside the cab where you sit. They don't offer an air ride seat and didn't even offer a high quality mechanical seat. They also didn't think we would need a cup holder in there. I mean after all us guys using vineyard tractors in a vineyard don't really use these tractors or sit in them for 8-14 hours a day. It also rattles a lot in there so its noisy. I just hope it holds up well.

If you don't want to read on the Kubota owners forum that a Kubota owner prefers his Kubota over any other brand/color then.......:confused2: What did you expect over here in Orange country???? Did you think we are Orange owners because they were free or something? Most of us chose, I've chosen 13 myself, Orange after trying the other brands because we preferred it over other colors for various reasons. He wasn't knocking Blue, he just said he preferred his Orange. What did you expect?:laughing:

If you don't view threads by the forum and instead use the "since my last visit" buttom all the threads come up in a row and not by forum. I just glance the thread titles and click on any that intrigue me. So I will admit I have replied to threads numerous times without ever knowing what actual forum it was in.

The JD 4320 we looked was an open station with a std. Seat. I asked about a seat adjustable seat back, because of my back problems, and that was a no go. I asked if they could put the cab seat on it and well it didn't have an adjustable seat back either. I just looked and I did see that you can get the air seat suspension with either the open station or the cab model JD for an additional $600. The farms CaseIH 5140 has a full air suspension seat and it's great, not as nice as the new Maxxum tractor seats but still quite nice. The Kubota seat isn't all that comfortable but the standard adjustable seat back and arm rests make up for the missing air suspension in my case.

We felt the hydro on the JD was far to jerky when compared to the Kubota. The Auto-Throttle and Stall Guard are years ahead of JD and CaseIH. I also didn't like it that after looking over the JD the starter was from Turkey, the alternator form another country and other various components were numerous other countries. At least with the Kubota everything I could see was marked Japan, except the rear wheels were stamped USA.

Oh yeah, ours has a cup holder and a cellphone holder.

I don't know. The cab on the narrows are the same frame as on the Grand L and the Grand L has I think two cup holders. My simple, open station Case-IH utility tractor even came with a cup holder mounted on the rops. I really believe Kubota just dropped the ball on their narrow cabs. It is partially my fault though, I stopped at a dealer who didn't have a narrow tractor on the lot but had me hop in the Grand L to see what the cab was like. So I assumed the Narrow would have the same exact cab as the Grand L and I was wrong. Its a lesson I have learned. I already installed a cup holder on the front grab rail on the right hand side that is next to impossible to get in and out of. Its a simple bottle holder you would put on a bike. The seat is looking like a $1k upgrade to replace it with an air suspension seat. So its still going to be cheaper then the Deere but I hope Kubota improves these units.

Don't rub it in :mad::mad::laughing:

I did install a phone mount in mine that is designed for my Droid Bionic. Its mounted on the side window hooked to the 12v charger and within reach of the aux input on the stereo. So its a good setup for my use.

I'm trying and trying to find a place on the net that sells air suspension bases for tractors but I can't find the darn thing. I found it about a year ago but can't remember what it was, it might be a way out for you on the air suspension. I'll keep searching.

Edit: Ok I found it but it doesn't list Kubota but I'd give them a call and see.

This color brand loyalty crap is just that......crap!! I bought a tractor because I wanted a tractor.....the color that I bought was based on what was convenient for me in regards to both the purchase process and anticipated dealer support. We all know how those two items can sway our decisions....at least mine anyways. :cool:

....fight nice guys....no pinching or hitting below the belt!!:confused:

And yes...I got here just because I clicked on the "today's post" link and poked my way down the topics....sorry if I touched down at the wrong airport flying what other tractor owners may perceive as a MIG-31 Foxhound. :)

4Shorts replaced the seat in his Grand L with a Grammer air suspension seat and documented everything on here. I think his total was around $1k. He has the links posted there. I would replace the seat completely because it really is garbage.
