Trivial use of tractors

I thought of this thread this weekend when I was moving an old bathtub with the FEL. Had to get it into position for the ice and keg...

Just came up with a new use yesterday.....
Instead of walking from the pool to the back of the shop to find relief from the previous beer and getting grasss clippings all over my wet feet and legs, I now park the tractor beside the pool fence gate. This way, I can open the gate and step on to the tractor, toodle back to the shop, take care of business, and come back to the pool without ever having to walk in the grass.

I routinely use my tractor to carry things from in front of my house to around back. My front yard is 1 story higher than the back, with retaining walls and fences. I cannot get from the front yard to the back unless I go throught the house or two houses down the street and into the back. Most recently carried one of the wife's house plants around with the FEL, got interesting looks from the neighbors!

Hey that rail buggy sounds like a fun project. Got any pictures? Reminds me of my new favorite show on TV, Junk Yard Wars. I keep telling my wife I want my own junk yard. Imagine what one could do with their own junk yard AND a tractor!

Having a junk yard use to be one of my dreams as well. Now I just settle for having neighbors who's place looks like a junk yard.

No pictures (don't have a camera) my computer is old and no usb port. I can't see paying the extra money for a camera that uses discs. Eventually new computer then camera. There are lots of things I would like to post pictures of. But, computer does everything I need it to do except that so can't justify new one.

Rail will be slow project. Ordered dies for tubing bender today $208.00 just for dies. Had a bender given to me. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif Then I went out and pressure cleaned all the parts that I am going to need. Hopefully I'll get to take it all apart tomorrow.

Hopefully it will come out a little better than the things on Junk Yard Wars. /w3tcompact/icons/hmm.gif

I just turn the tractor in whatever way best blocks the sight lines. Why do you think they have those big tires on 'em! Oops! I just remembered! That works on my TN 65. On some of those compacts you'd need to be Billy Barty to pull that one off!

Hi Chuck,
Sounds like you have a well thought out plan for the Rail, not just a 10 hour project like JYW. It sounds like you are doing a professional job. Would be nice if you could borrow a camera or just take a polaroid occassionally to record the progress of your project. Good lunck on it!
