She probably thinks it is a waste of money. Show her the new ones, the prices- then buy a used one. She'll give your argument more credit that you were willing to buy used! - And as you said- they last 20+ years! (and longer)

That might also be a good way to get a new tractor. Show her the new ones with pricing and finance options. Then look at used ones, if it is like around me a used one 3-5 years old wont be but a couple thousand less than a new one and are not as easy to finance if you require financing + if you can find financing the interest rate will be much more as in 8% or more compared to 0% on most new equipment AND you can roll your needed equipment into that same purchase at 0%.

Making a dollars and cents or a logical explanation isn't going to work. No more than we see the value in $40,000 in new kitchen cabinets, counters and sinks. To them the grass is still cut and to use there is food on the table and clean dishs.
You have to spin the emotional component , the dream. The status of having a CUT. The long term $$$ still in it after 10 hrs of cautious use and care. About how neighbours, friends, family and strangers will look up to your personal household . For owning a CUT instead of a cheapo lawnmaster. Something like the designer handbag vs the Walmart handbag. The security of having the tractor to pull out stuck vehicles and lift fallen trees off children and pets......

Could be that the big bump in price between the riding mower and the SCUT is her sticking point. So, try to get her agreement on a pre-owned tractor in the $2-3K range. Something like a Ford 8N, Farmall Super A, etc. You won't have the FEL now, but maybe after she gets some seat time on this first tractor, you both will agree to the need for an upgrade to the B-series Kubota, or equivalent.

Good luck.

FEL on a Ford N series? You trying to kill the poor fellow? For similar money get into a Massey 35,130,133,135,140,150,165 etc.

WOW, are you kidding me? I just got new kitchen cabinets, semi custom, not cheap crap either. Granite composite sink, Granite counter tops and tiled back splash for $less than $12k. And I was complaining about $12k, guess I got a good deal. Now back to the tractor topic. Go buy one before she gets home.
