Wherever there is competition, there will be someone seeking to present their product in the most favorable light. Objective testing is theoretically a good thing, but it doesn't always work out so well in reality, because it's not always easy to get laboratory tests that are true measues of the real world. Just for example, do you remember some of the cars sold in the '70's and '80's that were terrible to actually drive because the drivetrain was optimized for the EPA mileage rating, even if it sacrificed the driveability of the vehicle?

It's probably hard to deal with this topic without getting the brand antagonisms all stirred up, but the more important point is to take everything, particularly from a seller, but even so called "objective" testing, with a grain of salt. Buyers need to judge for themselves if a product is suitable.

There is a good Kioti owner response!
Did I hurt your feelings? At least I am contributing to the forum and not just knocking everyone's opinion. Try adding something useful next time.

So what do the Kubota dealers in Nebraska sell?
I have read in other places online that they are limited to models with 40HP PTO and less. I emailed a few Nebraska dealers to find out. I will post when they reply.

Obviously this was not an intentional mistake to mislead consumers since the LA724 has even lower specs.

I am sure Kubota never made a mistake like listing the wrong model number in a comparison chart.

I don't see the point of this post besides trying to put down another manufacturer which is no surprise from you. I am sure anyone can tell which manufacturer is the red one...

Well technically there is but (surprise! surprise!) Kubota does not participate in these test which is why Nebraska does not allow the sale of new tractors from this manufacturer in their state. There is no reason not to participate unless you don't want the truth in your specs to be published.

Yeah that is a bunch of great info. Saying things that you don't know to actually be true or not.

Yeah that is a bunch of great info. Saying things that you don't know to actually be true or not.

In the first quote I showed that the specs prove to be true and I posted a link to the manufacturers website to further confirm my statements. VERY HELPFUL INFO!

In the second quote, I stated that there was indeed a research type of independent firm that test tractors and post there findings in research books. Some actually found this so helpful, they actually Thanked Me!

When's the last time some said Thank You to you for the waste of bandwidth you use with these reply's...?

By the way, one of the dealer's I emailed replied to me that some models were tested above that 40HP PTO limit and asked what model I was interested in. In my mind, that confirms that they can only sell models that are either under 40HP PTO or have been tested by that independent firm. I will post any other replies I get from the other dealers.
Sorry to those who are interested in this info, I really should start posting more helpful info.

Puffery
About once a month Messick Farm knocks other mfg's that he dosn't handle if you go through his past postings and the ones that have been removed you will see what I am talking about.
When I was looking to buy a new tractor I ran across a dealer like that I made my purchase somewhere else,he seems to be the only dealer on here that resorts to this type of brand bashing.

Pretty heavy charge here. What say you Messick? I'm rather new to this forum and don't know a lot of its history.

In reply to an earlier post, "Bronze Member", or any other member designation is determined by the number of posts submitted...at least as far as I can tell. I'm a silver member and I'm sure that I don't know more than some of the bronze or new members here.

LOL I remember the 1974 Nova three speed manual on the column I had that lurched down the street until I put 1972 carburetor on it .
Dave.

How about a Buick Apollo? . . . Buick's version of the Nova. That poor thing was a **** on wheels.

Look guys, everyone knows that Messick thinks he sells the best of the best, I have a brother that thinks like that too.:ashamed:

Only its gotten so bad that I just quit reading anything he posts.

To each his own, its still a free country, but I still avoid him, my choice

Actually Derek, this post may help you and others understand a little bit more about the Nebraska issue. It has been talked about for many years here at TBN. Every now and then it gets re-posted as though it was the first and often it is the first time anyone hears about it. For those of you who did not see it and care too...

I agree with you Andy. I think its over the top.

(Btw.. said company is not a competitor in my area)

Messick's "area" covers most of the Northeast and Mid Atlantic. I have personally worked on equipment sold by them in Connecticut and NY. I have attended service schools with Messick techs that make week-long trips servicing self-propelled forage harvesters beyond their home state. Neither of which are bad things, but it is misleading to try to act like a little mom & pop store.

Some of the "aproved advertisers" on this site are getting out of hand.

Messick is NOT an "approved advertiser". In other words he is not a paying advertiser on TBN.

So, would you expect an individual who truly believes his products to be superior to state otherwise?

Personally I appreciate a dealer taking the time to read and participate in these forums. At the same time I view posts from advertisers as that, opinions of advertisers who have a vested interest in furthering their product and their business.

I own Kubotas, John Deeres, Fords, one Case and a Massey Ferguson; the "best" across the board simply doesn't exist any more.

Wow - I think everbody needs a little seat time to calm down!

I think Neil's coments weren't quite that out of line. I took them to mean: "Marketing information cannot be trusted..." rather than: " My tractors are better than your tractors...".

Now everyone get up out of the chair, go to your tractor and do something constructive. Mow some grass, move some dirt, check the oil levels, tire pressure in the tail wheel of the brush hog ( :) ), aka - anything with your tractor! Smelling that sweet intoxicationg aroma of an efficient little diesel engine will definately calm your nerves and make the world right again.

I am "afixin" to do that very thing; gonna fire up my L5030 to move some crushed rock, work on my roads and push some brush if I have time; can't beat it.

My renters were out with their JD8320's I think just love to hear those big engines under load and the smell of fresh worked earth.
