After 4 summers (240 hours) of loader work on blacktop, the front tires on my Kubota B2910 need replacing. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Picture attached.

The current size tire is 23X8.50X12, 4 ply. On the internet, I have found tires that are 23X9.50X12 and 23X10.50X12.

Has anyone had experience with putting these wider and heavier load capacity tires on a B27-2910 or other CUT?

Where can I find the best price on replacement tires?

Ron,
I have the same tires and have about 450 hours on them, and they are shot. Not a very good tire to say the least! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif I am looking at getting the 6 ply Titan Multi Trac C/S. My neighbor has them on his NH TC33 and they have a much deeper tread and seem to be holding up much better than the crap tires the Kubota came with. What I can't understand is why did the Kubota come with the good Firestones on the rear and the cheap crap on the front? Firestone makes a tire that size for the front, could they have saved that much$? Anyway I am looking at spending about $65.00 a tire! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif I paid less for the tires on my car! Plus will have to pay someone to mouut them, since Kubota does not use the split rim for the front anymore.

Check out the Titan tires, or see if you can find anything better and let me know what you find. I would like to get mine before the snow flies!

Thanks.
The 6 ply Titan Multi Trac C/S looks like a better tire than the Carlisle.

Here is a site that has them for about $50.00 plus shipping.

I am not sure what shipping would be. They are in North Dakota.
I probably would not use this company to order from because they do not have an address listed on their site. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

There should be others on the net with similar prices.

I'll keep looking and post a response.

Stopped by the Kubota dealer today to check on new tires. He tells me I trying to get the wrong size tire.

Now I am confused. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

The current model B27-2910 and B7800 when fitted with Turfs have Titan Multi Trac C/S 24x8.50-14NHS tires on the front. The rears are Titan 13.6-16 Turf tires. It appears the Titans rears are about ½” larger in diameter than the Firestone tires.

I do not know what year they changed mine is a 2000 model.

Can someone with a newer B27-2910 verify what size he or she has for front tires?

Probably going to buy another set of Carlisle tires, But Turf Master Tires that are a heavy-duty version of the Turf Chief that came on my B2910.

ronjhall,

Hi Ron its funny because your front tire is the same size as my back tire on my Cub 3204. If the newer models are 24x8.50-14NHS and yours is 23x8.50-12NHS, there is a difference of tire AND RIM !! also if your tire is 23x8.50-12NHS, you would not be able to use 24x10.50-12NHS because it requires a bigger rim diameter ( I think its 8.5" and you have a 7")
Look at Carisle tires web site and they have Rim sizes as well. Print it out and it will show you what fits and what wont.
You will see the jump in rim diam from 9.5 to 10.5 and from 12-14..
Again its funny because today i just received my 4 ply carlisle
23 x 9.5-12 NHS so this is real fresh in my mind...I got them very quickly from www.tiresunlimited.com
They also carry Titan, which was the other option..prices are on their web site

I hope this helps

After stopping at the dealer yesterday, I have decided to order the 23X8.50-12 tires. These are the same size as came on tractor. Just plan to get the Turf Master tires instead of the Turf Chief.

Thanks for the URL to Tires Unlimited. Their price for the tires is about $5.00 each less than the place I was looking at. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

If you can make a window motor work as a snowblower shute rotator... You can change your tires. The only hard part is beaking the bead. I have a tire machine at work but couldn't use it when I did my 14.9-26 rears.

Ron, I finally ordered new tires for the front of my tractor. I paid $65.00 each for the Titan 6 ply multi-tracs from the local JD dealer down the street. I know I could have gotten them cheaper, but I get great deals on other things from them. So it all works out in the end! I should be getting them in a few days, as he only had one in stock. I'll let you know how the 6 ply are with doing loader work. I know they will be much better in the snow than the bald ones on there now!
