The grenade thread reminded me of an old British mini-series that ran on PBS:

Danger UXB - Wikipedia

"Danger UXB is a 1979 British ITV television series set during the Second World War. It was developed by John Hawkesworth and starred Anthony Andrews as Lieutenant Brian Ash, an officer in the Royal Engineers (RE).

The series chronicles the exploits of the fictional 97 Tunnelling Company, which has been made a bomb disposal unit, and specifically 347 Section of the company, to deal with the thousands of unexploded bombs ("UXBs") in London during the Blitz. "

All Creatures Great and Small is a good new show on PBS. It's set in 1930s Yorkshire and follows the adventures of a country vet practice.

"Danger Mouse" is one of my favorite British TV shows. Streaming on Netflix. They even made a new season but I like the classic best.

I wish someone would stream, "The Secret Show". Another great British animated show.

The author wrote a series of books with similar titles. All great! Talk about heart warming! I personally don't like any english tv except monty python.

While living in Portland I met an older gal who's brother had been authors mailman in England. She moved to Washington state to enrich uranium for the bomb. Physicist.

Yes, I also read the first in the series of books a long time ago. I usually cringe at the thought of a film adaptation of a book, but I think this one did a good job. It also has some very heartwarming moments.

Wartime Farm is a BBC series on recreating farming practices in England during WW II. A little slow at times but I'm enjoying it. Available on YouTube for free.
