All Creatures Great and Small is a good new show on PBS. It's set in 1930s Yorkshire and follows the adventures of a country vet practice.
I loved the original series and read all of the books. Eventually, read the biography of Herriot that was written by his son. Kinda a spoiler to know what happened to the vets later in life...
Funny enough, we signed up for BritBox last year and have been rewatching the original series. Then we saw the announcement for the new series and wondered how good it would be. Then we saw who the actor is who will play Tristan and thought that was good casting. The new series is pretty good, though I think they have changed some of the stories line around a bit which I don't like, but all in all, the three episodes have been most excellent.

If I had seen the original series, which caused me to read the books, earlier in life, I would have changed my career choice to be a vet....
One interesting tid bit about Herriot. They lived in the area he worked all his life. When his book started making money he had a tough decision to make since this was when they had high taxes, frankly a confiscatory tax, of over 80%!. The Beatles song Tax Man is about this high tax. Anyway, the money was rolling in from the Herriot books, and he had to make a choice to stay or go. If he had left the UK he could have kept much of the book royalties, if he stayed in the UK, well, the Tax Man would get the money. He stayed in the place he loved and paid the Tax Man.
