Thanks for your kind words,
It came from the west coast of Scotland, I live on the east coast. 20 miles south of John O Groats (if that means anything as thats the most northern town/village on the mainland) it was parked up and lay for approx 15-20 years I believe,
It has been a steep learning curve thats for sure, its been interesting learning how everythings comes together,
I still have quite a bit to do with the front loader and back hoe, I am in no great need for it so its on the back burner just now, too many other things getting in the way.

Thanks Chris

So after a bit of a break from this tractor finally I have managed to get a start made on the front loader, stripped off everything that was either thin or bent and damaged the photos save a thousand words so after a good couple days work this is what I got up to.

Starting with this,

Loader pockets removed and the steel underneath is good,
DSC02754 by chrismac2012, on Flickr

New pockets fitted and welded along with the replacement loader main bearers, in slightly heavier steel than origional.

Showing the general idea, the welds will get dressed so the main loader bearer sits neat in the pocket.

The next photos are for info should anyone need to make the frame which sits under the tractor

We are back on track to get this done so what this space.

Hi Marcle, no drain holes, its all welded up and sealed pretty good as can be seen from how good a condition the top of the u section is, I am glad I cut it off here to get a look and now have the confidence its in good shape.
On another note would you be able to assist me with the pto pump you have fitted for the backhoe, I am wondering what gearing there is from the pto to the pump, I see there is a few options and I am unsure which is correct, I dont suppose the next time your about your tractor you would manage to see if there was any indication to the ratio, ether it be 1:2, 1:3,
I dont have this pump and would like to get a pointer before buying the wrong one.

Thanks Chris

Been getting on with a little more jobs needing done, some more than expected, but it all needs done,

The frame for the loader got stripped of all hoses and rams, some repairs were carried out,

A few holes appeared after I attacked it with a centre punch
DSC02769 by chrismac2012, on Flickr

Area cut out with some thin metal built up on the inside of the box section,

Then the plate was fully welded back in, the gap helps get full penetration when dressed flush

I did not get too excited about how it looks, thats near enough for me,

Next was the front support frame

The new seat support for the other set of spool valves getting fitted,

The flat bars that run the length of the tractor needed replaced too, note the corrosion, where the nuts have been saved and the metal is at its thickest.

Getting close to a trail fit, all the rams need new steel so that will slow things down soon.

Marcel, That box section repair was done using TIG (tungsten inert gas) its a high quality welding technique thats very controllable (in the right hands ) but for the general other welds I am using MIG, its nice and fast.

Today was a slow day had a bit of free time in the afternoon so got on fitting the flatbars for the loader mounting frame,
I had the tolerences on the holes so tight it took a bit of work to them all alinged,

When I went to fit the loader mounting frame, I beefed up the rear part with some flatbar as it was pitted and also did not scallop a mating section, which came back to bit me, as once it was fitted it was not so good to adjust, got there though and its now fitted, I'll dress it once it all comes back off again for painting and possibly plate the narrow section as it was welded previously.

I also filled the holes in the front frame which for some reason seem to be drilled all over the place and will re-drill equi spaced holes, to help my OCD.
