I just made a big sheet with all the numbers comparing the tym 474,494,574 and the Massey 1835m and the 2850e. The specs on paper look better than the Massey except for hydraulic flow. Weights are the same. Even the backhoe was almost the same as woods it was like 120 lbs of less digging force but that’s it.

In the pics it looks like the backhoe hangs a mile off the back of the tractor though. I still keep going back and fourth on getting the backhoe or not.

TYMs specs will win just about everytime, against any make. Just keep in mind they are paper specs, and most won’t ever tell the difference. And specs do not always make a better tractor.

The TYM uses bigger cylinders than most. Not paper specs if it does it in the field.

TYM also has more standard features than most makes. As long as you have a good dealer, definitely worth a look.

I’m concerned mostly about any lack of tym support if needed. Agco has a huge network. I beat the crapp outta my 1725 and never had an issue.

Before buying, be sure to go and look at each one in person. I was really leaning to a few other brands before I bought my Massey, but after looking at the other brands, I didn't see any comparison to the 4707 in the 70 HP range of 4x4 cabbed tractors.

Yanmar makes great tractors. One of the best. But their dealer network is so small. Not a single dealer in Indiana. Really have no idea why they never expanded ...

This would be my pick... YT3 Series | YANMAR Tractor

But I'm also a big fan of MF. No experience with TYM.

My Massey dealer has yanmar too but he has a super small selection and said they don’t do good financing plans so no one really buys them.

The dealer is recommending the 494 for what I wanna do with it. I asked about how long the backhoe sticks out when it’s stowed and he told me 8.5 feet. He said the tractor with how is like 21 feet long front to back. I have a postage stamp of land so total length is a concern.

In the future my wife and I hope to purchase more land so if I did a cab and or backhoe that would Be more used in the future than now. The way I look at it though if I wait then the same tractor will probly just cost another 10k that way it’s been going. He did caution me though if I want a cab it has to be done at time of purchase and I can add a hoe at anytime.

I've got the turbo version. No problems so far. I'm mostly in trees, so cab is not worth it. I figured I could rent a mini ex for much less than the cost of the backhoe. Unless it is for light commercial work, it may not be for you either. It may be worth trying to estimate how many hours worth of backhoe work you have planned.
