Ugliest New Vehicle???

Look at this thing...granted its got 4WD and some horsepower ( 605 HP from a V-10 ) to pull that plow or harrow, but there no room for a toolbox and I think the ground clearance is limited. From what I undersatnd, you can plow 100 acres in 12 minutes....assuming that 12 acres are in a straight line /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I would agree that the Aztec is the ugliest vehicle out there, still haven't figured out why they still sell it (or any Pontiac). But would respectfully disagree with wroughtn_harv (sorry, there had to be a first time) that the Buick version, Rendezvous, is also ugly. I think that Buick took an ugly vehicle (but useful and efficient) and made its appearance acceptable to the masses. The biggest strike against the Rendezvous is its relationship to the Aztec.

Maybe I feel this way because my wife loves the vehicle enough that she has one in the garage and I am just trying to justify its existance within my four walls! Before we bought it I was indifferent but after being inside one my view changed.

Very good. Actually, most of the newer stuff looks like upside down bathtubs designed to squeeze .11 MPG extra as you're cuising down the interstate at 96 MPH, or, as you're crawling home in the commute at 23 MPH. My vote for the ugliest is what Ford has done to the new Jags. Jag has always been distinctive. Now, it's hard to tell it from the other inverted bathtubs rolling down the road.

Liked your humor, tc35Dforme.

Take care.

I can still tell the difference in the Jag's. Ford did make them more affordable but they are still very distinctive if you run across them. The S-type is the most distinctive.

I'll grant you they still look better than a lot of cars. It's just you used to be able to pick them out easy. Now you have to get real close (or at least I do - maybe it's my failing vision). The older Jags didn't look like anything else (at least to me). Also, will grant Ford has probably increased their reliability. Ever try to get those carbs on an old 6 working together!

I tried to convience my wife to sell the house so I could get one of those GT2 Porshes, But at $ 440,000....we'd still be a bit short. I can't even afford tires for that thing. I understand they are $ 1600 each after mounting and balancing /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

That's been my observation about the Avalanche and the H2.

I figure that my attitude about myself would easily adapt to how I could feel about one of those vehicles. (Many the time I've passed by a mirror and had a critical thought about the short fat guy with all that hair on his face.) I know from personal experience that comfort and competence from the inner view out weighs what others see from the outside.

On trips like we had this weekend I know an ugly Avalanche would have been much more comfortable the wife's cute 2002 Bravada.

But if we're going to get into ugly as ugly can get.......how can we ignore the early sixties Chrysler products? The only thing to compete with the Lancer compact had to be the four door Maverick. That was ugly a power washer would fold before touching.

We can add the Hilux from Toyota to the list of ugly trucks like the early Studebaker, fifty eight any kind of truck or pick up, double darn those quad headlights, and wasn't the original Dodge Club Cab the first example of comfort and utility over appearance?

And am I the only one to having to curb an up chuck reflex over these new twenty inch and plus sized wheels on pick ups?

Nope, I'm with ya Harv. The trend toward larger wheels and less rubber is just plain ugly.
