I think there may be codes about sewer and water in the same trench, especially about water UNDER sewer lines.
If there was ever a problem with the septic line AND the water line (pretty big odds I think) you could end up siphoning back into your house.
With that said, I would run a water under septic and put in a check valve at the point I tied in the branch line. You could even place some concrete extending a few feet on either side of the septic line for additional insurance.
I'll be running hose bibs to the horse troughs and will install a check valve in the pump house cause I know the wife is gonna leave the hose in the trough. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
