Are there any compact tractors build here in the USA anymore?
I used to avoid shopping at Walmart because all their stuff was made in overseas sweatshops but over time it seemed a fools errand to pay a higher price for something on the basis of where it's made. Low cost manufacturing has lifted billions out of poverty in recent decades and a rising middle class in the developing world can mean more jobs here at home.
A stable middle class and the consumer demand it generates is critical to a vibrant economy. We shouldn't lose site of that. I buy American cars nowadays because they're on par in quality and are competitively priced. I'd buy a tractor built in the USA for the same reasons.
