That's fantastic Von! Incredible piece of machinery and it looks like you're doing a great job in your restoration. Keep the pictures coming, I'm living vicariously through your project /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

<font color="blue"> See how they offset the motor and tranny to one side for the front drive shaft.

Von, I wish I had your energy (I mean again, think I did once...) /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Nice to see the project coming together so well.

Could not help but think that slight offset would result in perfect balance, when the drive was on board and off setting weight of the engine that is to the right of center line.

Can't wait to see photos of the cab on chassis. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Well between hunting today I got some more work done on the Unimog! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Got both axles in after putting on all new brake lines. As well as the springs and shocks. First photo is of the whole thing as it looks tonight.

You're not headed for the preverbial "boat in the basement" problem, are you Von? Once you get that beast finished, will it fit through your garage door? If not, it would pretty easily find it's own way out I'll bet /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

That's beautiful, Von. You obviously have a great deal more patience and know how than I do.

And look how clean the shop is. If I took something that size apart the garge would be trashed and I could never find any part that I knew I had

I sure wish I had your talents. The restoration looks fantastic! I wouldn't have even noticed the slight offset of the motor and tranny had you not mentioned it.
