Thanks again everyone.

I'm thinking that I'll build a utility box on the TSC 3PH frame. Use that for ballast, carrying tools, saws, mulch, wood chips for paths and anything else that I can put in it.

Then I'm thinking about getting the light duty clamp-on forks from Payneforks... Paynesforks.com - Tractor & Skid Steer Bucket Forks Attachments.

Then finally request delivery of any attachments on a truck with a lift gate.

That should cover everything.

Of course keep practicing riding that tractor.

A carry-all is $100 cheaper than a ballast box.. And it still has other uses, unlike the ballast box. If you need ballast, buy the carry-all. But if you have extra money to throw away, by all means, throw it away...

Alright so lets see, here's two carry-all's that came up under a google search. The first one made by Farm Pro for $110, Farm Pro 3 Point Carry All Fork Tractor Attachment NEW - Denham Springs - Bonanzle.
And the second made by Sundowner which is on Ebay for $148, Sundowner Carry-All Platform Tractor Attachment - eBay (item 260407666984 end time Sep-06-09 08:04:00 PDT).

Now, are the prices cheaper? Mmm, yeah, by about $100 bucks. But, lets take a look at the weight capacities. The Farm Pro is only rated to hold 400lbs, which is pretty useless for ballast. Not to mention you can get that much in just your rear tires alone with Rim Guard. The Sundowner on ebay is built almost exactly the same and if you could find the specs for it, I would bet that the weight it's rated for is close to the same as the first one.

A ballast box will run you $206 at a dealer, give or take for mark up or what he may discount you, (and that's not even $100 more, only $94 and $58). The real seller though is that on the ballast box, it's built to hold a lot of weight. It'll easily carry double what either of those carry-all's will, and like I said, if you get fork's than there's no point for a carry-all.

Even with pallet forks, a carry all is very useful, as you can carry a lot more weight on it than you can on the front loader. Search on Markham welding for pallet forks, nice product at a good price. Lots of people on here buy from them.
As far as the unloading part, lots of good advice already given. Before I had pallet forks I've used the bucket, and chains. Actually, sometimes I still just use a chain from the loader if it's something I can easily put a chain on. This pic is how I unloaded my tiller. Just wrapped a chain around it, and simply hooked on the back of the bucket. I didn't have a picture of the unload, but this picture still had the chain attached.

Go to buy youself 2 wratcheted heavy lift tie down straps (about $18 per strap from True Value). Run the straps through the 3 point lift gates on the implement, put the FEL over the implement and attach run the straps over the FEL and then wratchet it up. You want it so that the implement is suspended by about a foot under the FEL.

That is exactly what I have done to get pretty heavy implements off a trailer. Sometimes you cannot lift things but all you need to do is get them off the truck/trailer bed and then move the vehicle out from under the suspended load.

A bush hog makes a nice balance weight because it is so long that you benefit from the lever effect. Lash a few cinder blocks on the back wheel triangle and lift the wheel off the ground for very temporary extra weight. Much more effective than a heavier and otherwise useless ballast box or even carryall.

I was glad I bought my pallet forks with the tractor, they made unloading future attachment purchases much easier.

Pallet forks are nice to have, but a toothbar and the bucket edge under the edge of the pallet might be enough.
Then a ratchet strap around the item and whatever appropriate cross tube between your loader arms should do it.
DO be sure to tip it back towards you a bit before tightening the strap, if you lower it and then tip the bucket back your strap will get loose.
Do have the truck drive out from under your bucket, then LOWER ( don't DROP) it slowly.

I don't remember if my Caroni pallet would have fitted in my loader bucket, since I used pallet forks anyway.
You want as much IN the bucket as practical, but it doesn't have to ALL be in.

Gee, if ONLY you had bought a self leveling loader (-:

FarmPro... Pfft! No wonder you think a carry-all is useless. Try a real implement: King Kutter Carry All, Model CA | Scoops | Northern Tool + Equipment

I unloaded a long pallet similar to this once (before pallet forks). I put the end of the pallet in the bucket, and attached a chain, at each side, on the far end of the pallet back to the top of the bucket. Tilted back the bucket, and lifted the pallet right up off the truck. I looked for a picture, but must not have taken one. For ballast, I usually have the mower deck on, so that is my ballest. For something heavier I could use the tiller or the rotory mower. I don't use the carryall necessarily for ballast, but for the $60 I paid for it, it has been very handy for carrying a lot of things behind the tractor. I use it to carry pallets around that are too heavy to carry with the pallet forks on the front, or if I want to leave the bucket on and carry something. I just wish I could lift those ton pellet pallets I'm about to get.
