Update on RX6010 with low hours motor failure

i dont understand why someone would think that a manufacturer would give someone a new engine when its 15 months out of warranty. On my Kioti i had several small problems during the 5 year warranty, and all were covered no questions asked. Ive dealt with 2 different dealerships and have never had any issues either getting parts or getting repairs.

I sell and install generators for a living. when one fails during warranty the manufacturer simply sends me the parts and pays me a fixed rate to repair based on a chart. simple as can be. Mind you, if unit is 1 day past warranty, they wont pay anything....why should they.

When the front end of my JD tractor locked up, with low hours and out of warranty, i ponied up and paid for repairs. i didnt ***** and complain and insist that the dealer pay for the repairs.

It's the "right" thing to do. It's not a matter of something wearing out. either normally or prematurely, but something critical and expensive breaking when it simply shouldn't.

If you hit a bump in your pickup a year or two after warranty and the entire thing broke in two, don't you think the manufacturer is obligated to do something?

That's so far away I can't tell. Ever see a vehicle from a distance and think, what a piece of rusted out sheit, only to get closer and find out it's a mural or wrap? lol

I think ruffdog summed it up pretty well. By the time the OP started this thread, he'd already started down the path of fixing his machine ON HIS OWN DIME. He was here to vent a bit and tell us what happened to his machine after only 450 hours. There were several folks trying to help out, asking valuable questions but there was also a slew of un-helpful and negative comments. Which give the OP very little incentive to continue participating so that the rest of us could learn from his misfortune.

C'mon guys, this is turning into TBN by Dr Phil! The OP came in moaning about a treatment he received by Kioti and told us NOTHING about the problem so that we may adjudicate tort or right where it belongs according to our collective wisdom & experience FWIW :) When pressed for details he avoided every bit of inquiry. He either wanted unilateral solidarity or a shoulder to cry on, I think the former. He's not worth fighting with ourselves over this, just saying.

So offering some sympathy and refusing to shout down a guy who's just had his motor blow with fewer than 500 hours is acting like Dr. Phil? Ridiculous. Sounds to me like you poorly behaved fellows are trying to absolve yourselves by claiming kioti owns him nothing (which no one has disputed) and then AFTER he'd been insulted, claim he won't provide details. Doesn't make any sense to me.

Karma would be the motor on your Kioti blowing for exactly the same (preventable) reason but you couldn't do anything about it because you were rude to someone who could have help you avoid it.

Not meaning to flog a dead horse, but nowadays, more then ever, maybe, people are looking for honesty, decency, integrity and people/corporations that stand for something good. And aren't just out to take your money and run.

AND, the way I see it, too few people are looking for free sheit, and in my opinion only know how to throw their hard earned money, and that they don't even have yet, away! It's not even asking for something for free. We should be demanding MORE accountability from all kinds of entities! Not a world where more and more people get away with everything.

True but if all (or most, or even many) Kiotis experienced catastrophic engine failure just one year out of warranty none of us (Kioti owners) would be happy and the Kioti brand would soon history. Except for a very few rare cases it is reasonable to expect a quality Diesel engine to function for many thousands of hours, providing it is properly maintained. In this particular case I would expect Kioti to be interested in understanding why this engine failed.

That is largely the point; this kind of thing doesn't happen on a regular basis with Kioti, or most any brand, that I'm aware of. If valves were dropping into pistons on a regular basis, or some similar catastrophe, the company with the issues would beat a hasty path to the needed solution or risk their market share in the business.

However, for whatever reason, this OP's tractor self destructed, and I suspect some portion may have been due to OP error of some kind. We may never know, but the mere fact that we have so little to rely on for details makes me wonder the reasons why. We can't even get a nod from the OP as to what he uses his tractor for, let alone details of what specifically took place when the coolant leaked and the block heater jumped to a short death on the ground. Those things alone speak to a very unusual set of circumstances, not a run of the mill low hour failure. If I had to bet I'd bet on the block heater installation being the culprit, but I'm taking a WAG because I can't get more details to confirm my theory that the install if recent, with winter fast approaching, is the cause of the failure.

And as far as if my pickup broke in half a couple of years past warranty, posed by another poster; NO I would not expect anything from the manufacturer. Does said pickup have 500 miles or 250,000? It's apples to potatoes, and once off warranty, one is owed nothing.

Whether anyone likes or accepts it, the deck is stacked in the manufacturer's favor. Ever heard of planned obsolescence? :confused3:

It's clear folks are here for different reasons.

I'm here to help where I can, or in a thread like this where I don't have expertise, I'm here to learn. To do that I rely on the poster sharing their experience and other folks, more knowledgable than me, sharing their expertise. That requires the OP sticks around long enough to share details. In this case, he got driven away before ever giving sufficient details.

Some folks are here to make sure that no one gets away with saying bad things about Kioti tractors and folks are here to make sure that other folks don't ask for and don't get free stuff. It's clear that these folks have 'won' in this thread. Lots of telling us how out of warranty means you're just SOL and how 'folks today just want free stuff'. Both pretty useless lessons as far as I'm concerned.

In my opinion this is a lost opportunity. We're unlikely to ever learn the details of what happened here.

I can only hope that you guys will stick around this thread and be too busy slapping each other on the back and congratulating one another ('we told that guy', 'where does he get off', 'kioti can do no wrong') to drive away the next poster that might have something the rest of us can learn from.
