Upgrading from B7800

I'd like a bigger tractor also.. Horsepower and torque can be addicting, but when I think about it, the B-7800 is perfect for my needs, and a bigger tractor may not do my jobs as well.
It pulls my 5' bush hog with no problems, picks big goonies from the field. It'a also light enough to drive over the lawn and leaching field. Small enough to get into the old two track in the woods for firewood, and enough power to pull it out..

Sure, I'd like a newer and bigger tractor, but I doubt it would serve my purposes as well as that B-7800 has..

I would keep it. No more hours then you are putting on it, it has cost you a lot pr hour so far, it must be doing the job. I have one and a L4240, I seem to be using my 7800 more then the 4240, and that is everyday for at least one of them. I'll have to check the hours and see for sure. That 7800 for the size sure can do alot.

appreciate the comments, with a new seat and the pin adjust stabilizer bars it may be a keeper. I sure haven't had any problems with it. I guess I just want something bigger, more powerful and more comfortable and I could use the deduction on my 2010 taxes.

I I never could figure out how spending money for a deduction could result in a net saving.
If I've got to spend 10K to get a 7k tax deduction I've still spent 3K.
'Course my wife used to come home bragging how she saved $X00 on stuff we didn't need. Now she saves by not buying.

It's really not a net savings but if I buy something that's deductible, it makes me feel better that the final cost will be reduced by my tax bracket percentage. . And yes it makes me laugh when people buy stuff they don't need because it was "on sale" or they had a coupon.
However......I just installed the "new style" Kubota seat and it sure is more comfortable than the old style!

CK35 has pin adjustable stabilizer bars on 3PH, L3400 has the turnbuckle style.

I replaced the turnbuckles on my 7800 with the B2910 kit from TractorSmart.com. (Mine were bent when I bought it!- what a PITA) Makes a huge difference.

I am surprised the L3400 has those junk - I though only the budget models had them.

Also- what is the "new-style Kubota seat"?

The Deluxe B's linkage will fit right on the the B-7800 and on the L-3400 they have a kit available trough dealers to make it easy. L-8430 for the 2800 and 3400 tractors.

If you have a 2005 w/ only 110 hrs. on it than it appears, you dont use the tractor too often. I would save the money and upgrade the few parts you would like for more comfort etc... Your only gaining 4 to 5 horse power w/ the upgrade and from what I heard the 7800 is a good machine.

Also understand your other side of having something new is always nice but 110 hrs. IMHO is just about new and eaither paid off or about to be paid off. Good Luck w/ you decision.
