I have a 10-acre farm, mostly pasture in rotational grazing for dairy-meat goats, some bottle lambs and a Jersey cow-calf unit. For the past 11 years, I have used riding mowers for mowing, cleaning barns (with pitchfork, utility cart), spreading mulch, etc.; however, I'm getting older and need a small tractor w/FEL for barn cleaning, bush-hogging and snow removal (I live in north-central MI)
My local Kubota dealer has a used 2002 BX2360 w/FEL with 1500 hours, for $8,000 at 7% financing; a 2009 version costs $12,900 (0%, 48mos financing). Is this a good price for the 2002 tractor? Are there any major defects/downsides to buying the older one... ie, is it safe for someone who knows nothing about tractors?
I've read a few reviews here and they do sound rather discouraging (tippy, dangerous w/FEL, etc), plus the BX2360 seems a bit small; unfortunately, the B2320 at $14,300 is out of my price range.
any suggestions?
