I looked at a used 48" Woods M4 brush mower today. It is at the dealer I bought my BX2350 at. The price started at $350 and was $200 by the time I left. The deck it a little bit beat up, and will need some welding soon. The front edge is split, and there is a place on the rear corner that has been patched once and needs welded up again. The underneath looks good except there it is a little oily looking on the bottom of the spindle. It comes with a drive shaft and has a slip clutch.

Is this a deal or something I should pass on? A new one appears to be over a $1000. I will not use it very often so hate to pay for a new one.

If the shaft isn't bent and the seal don't leak 'too' bad, I'd give him 200 for it.

But I've got the scrap metal and tools/welder to fix it.

If you have to farm this work out, the 'bargain' gets less appealing.
