I'm planning on installing some Vinyl Fence. Has anybody had experience with purchasing, installing, and using this type of fence./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif As I travel around I have seen quite a few fences made with vinyl. Sure looks good and may be a good way to get away from maintaining a fence.. Initially I plan on installing about 600' with three 12' gates. The current fence that I have up is over 25 years old and is falling down. The new fence will be more for looks, than to keep animals at this time.
I've been interested in this type of fence in the last couple of years. In 1999 I got a quote from a fencing company that's 100 miles away and it was going to be $12/foot installed. I got prices from this site (same manufacturer of fence) http://www.discountfence.com/vinyl_fence/vinyl_fence_index.htm of $5.09/foot for materials only (4 rail) and at that time, they offered free delivery for orders over $1450. I would like to do _at least_ 1000 feet, so it got put on the back burner.
Now that I have a tractor with a post-hole auger, I'd like to look into doing some of it myself. In these parts I think (but am not positive) that the freezing temperatures may be the biggest problem. I'd worry about it breaking if it was bumped by anything when the temps get down to zero or below.
It sure does look nice!!
PS - Would you believe there's still 3 feet of snow on the ground and a possible snow storm this weekend!! There won't be any fencing done for quite a while yet /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif.
