To start, I have never had either of my JD's back for any work.
I called the service department yesterday to see about getting my 2210 fixed. He asked the problem. I explained the deck adjustment knob and the squeaking front end.
I told him how many hours were on it and when I had purchased. He asked if I wanted it picked up, then said You bought that here didn't you?
They are going to pick it up tomorrow and promised it back on Tuesday. I just thought it was funny that he asked were I had bought it. I would assume that you get better service buying from a local dealer.
Just sharing my experience.

Steve,

Did you find the question funny because

you thought they should know you as a customer

or

that where you bought it shouldn't matter for warranty work?

Both are legit questions, I just can't tell which you are asking.

I thought it should not matter were you bought the tractor.

If I would of called my sales guy, That would be a different story since I have talked with him a lot.

Transportation, under warranty is the customers responsibility. But a selling dealer can offer that service as a perk. Awful nice of them to pick it up!

Mike,

That's what I was thinking as well which is why I asked Steve the question.

My dealer offers free pick up/drop off for warranty work and I figured Steve's dealer had the same program. So the question was probably not related to the quality of work, but rather the free pick up/delivery.

Are they going to pick it up free of charge ?

I will have to let you know on Tuesday. He didn't say anything about charging, but, you never know.

Steve,
What is the problem with the deck adjustment knob? Just curious as I own a 2210 also.
Thanks, Ken /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hey Ken,
I can't seem to make it go all the way around, from what I have heard on here it is supposed to go all the way around in a circle. It won't make it up past 5" mark to the lock position.
It has been stiff since new, always had to get off tractor to move. I have lubed it to make it easier but doesn't last too long. It really doesn't bother me much.

I am worried about the front axle squeak and the inability to grease the pivot. It worked for the first 80 hours or so then would not take grease and started squeaking.
