No, it uses a standard 9V battery.Can that use a FlexVolt battery ?
Just as well. A flexvolt battery would add considerable weight & bulk, making the device more awkward to handle.

That's enough, if it is done carefully.
I once ran 100 ft. of 6" field tile, dead level for the city of Woodward, Iowa. But it was done with a ferris-wheel type tiling machine and laser.
Overall the property has about 4 foot drop across a 600 ft run which ends in a wide ditch/cannel - I had planned to only tile about 150 foot and then let daylight it and let run the rest above ground - I missed that where I had planned to daylight was a relatively flat spot - about 100 so I would of had a long run with the tile real shallow. I added a pump station - luckily have power close by. I was able to get the tile in at 1 inch drop per 10 foot - not quite 1% but seems to run out well. Finishing up this weekend running conduit/ power etc. have a 1/2 hp 60 gpm sump to install. The “pump station is really going to work out - it will allow me to tye more drain lines into it. There is a photo of a line attached to a metal post - that run goes to where I plan to put a pole barn - I’ll use it to capture some of the roof run off

It’s hard to capture grade in a photo - the PO of this place had dug a hole about 2 or 3 foot deep by maybe 20 (more or less - kidney shaped) IDK if he was making a berm to shot or was trying to make a pond or what - maybe just trying to make a dry retention pond thing - put it is actually at one of the higher spots on property so doesn’t capture run off - only horizontal movement / ground feed. That was my start point and set the depth. Kind of tricky for a first timer- I’m real pleased with it. Have had 3 rains and it has made a difference for sure.
Couple things about the water level - I drive metal posts every 100 foot and used water level to find spot to attach string line - also double checked water level against string level - then I finished the trench by hand shoveling. I had a digger but noway to have the string line in place and dig at same time except by hand. If I’d had a lazer level I could of set depth much better with digger and that would or saved some blisters - a bunch of the bottom of that trench was in hardpan!
