i wash my tractor on occasion and wax it at least 2 x a year, now some will scoff, but what the heck i enjoy doing it, besides keeping it clean is easier if u do it often. my wife also looks at me kind of strange, but she is used to it after 40 years. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Back a couple of years ago when I got my first new Kubota my 22 year old son found me putting
a good coat of wax on the tractor. Then he made a post on this forum about tractor wax to kind of
poke fun at his father. Well, it back fired because there were many replies from other tractor owners
who protected and enhanced their tractors with a good coat of wax.

I must admit the wife does not share the same sense of need for the tractor to look cleaner than her car.
There was a time this spring when I had to go throught a big mud hole several times out in the woods, the
tractor was pretty dirty. I can still see the look on her face when I said I'll be back in an hour I'm going
to the car wash to clean the tractor, but the tractor was clean when I returned. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Glad to see I am not alone out there. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Whiskey,

I left the FEL on but I used Maguires Classic wax, it's liquid and it goes on and off easy. This way I could wax just about every inch with the loader on. Nice thing about this wax is they direct you to wax the entire vehicle and THEN go back and buff it off, it doesn't need to be done a section at a time.

Hey Whiskey, now even with your 1 month head start my tractors got more hours and is even shinier! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I will admit I still have not topped your ROPS stunt.

I put Mothers paste wax on mine, it stays longer, than anything else I've ever tryed, and I'm an old man, and have tryed them all. Is cost a little more, than some, but it's my tractor, and it's worth it. Love to see that water bead, when I hose it off, after a day of bush hogging. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I've had my Yanmar for a year now and have waxed my tractor at least twice a month. I have been using the color additive type of polish which I believe has actually improved the depth of color on my tractor. To my knowledge, the paint is original.

That's darn good. Tractor looks much newer than that.

I use the color additive wax on my wife's black custom van. Those little scratches look MUCH better with a little color wax!

David, whatever you're using; looks like it's the right thing. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif That's just shiny as a new penny.

Just kinding about the loader.... but yes I do wax my tractor.
I try to wax any tractor/implement that is painted at least once a year. Makes a big difference in paint life time.

I find the spray on and then wipe off stuff works pretty well and its fast.

My NH & loader arms gets waxed about every 3-4 weeks, defintely makes it easier to clean up. 3 ph attachments usually get it twice a season...and makes me take the extra time to make sure I don't have any emerging problems on them.
