Re: Making a weld shop.

You weren't helping it much with that long fork, like using leverage to disadvantage. LOL

Just a test to see what it can do. I'm very happy the way this turned out. Now if I could figure out how to make that budget loader control valve have the fine sensitivity of a premium tractor...

Why didn't i do this sooner?

In less than three weeks I put 11 hours on the Max28, 4 hours on the L39, and about 1-1/2 hours tops on the excavator.

That says something for the versatliity of the little Max.
4 top mods to my Max28, All of them rated essential.

1. Suspension Seat & cup holder
2. Worklights
3. Modified Quick hitch with Counter Weight Carry all, Adjustable trailer hitch, Plow, tow hooks, etc.
4. 40mm curl cylinders for the "Popeye" effect.

To move spoils, I drive into a pile in 1st gear low 2wd at 1500 rpm or less with 750 lbs. on the hitch for CW, wiggle and bury the bucket deep into the pile, while not touching the clutch, letting the rears spin just a bit. Then just shift into Hi range reverse while taking a more than bucket full for loosened up material out of the pile, and on my way to dump and spread. I moved and spread 34 tons of gravel in 4 hours to a spot that I could not maneuver my bigger L39. Quick, simple, no HST whine.

Today I moved about 10 tons of gravel down to the end of my woods road with he Max.
I could have used the L39, but it is not as easy to fit down the twisty, hilly, narrow road, and all to easy to scar trees or damage the tractor.

Then I took the dogs for a walk down the road but came back throught the pasture. I found 11 ticks on me tonight. I think I'll be staying out of the tall grass.

Re: 128.1 hours ( L39 is down for repairs, making due with Max)

128.1 hours Re: L39 is down for repairs, been 3 weeks, making due with the Max

Felt the need to exercise the excavator a bit today.

Re: 128.1 hours ( L39 is down for repairs, making due with Max)

Moving tons of dirt adding to my woods trail/road with the Max28 (137 Hours on the meter & rising.)

The smaller size of the Max28 is good in the woods, but the Max does not have the weight or the beans to dig out 3" to 5" stumps with the bucket.

I would do too much damage with the excavator, as the path in the new section is too narrow. I've been warned by my wife that she does not care to trail ride through a trampled forest, so I got to get the L39 repaired.

Dusty Tractor, that's the least of the Northeast's problem

After about 10 operating hours since the last good wash down, 145 hours so far.

Every square inch of the Max was covered with fine silty dust.

I blew a pound of dust out of the air cleaner and gave the tractor a good hose down.

We are lucky to have a very high capacity well. Dug wells are running dry.

Commercial farmers are having a real tough time.

!00 Communities in NH have a watering ban.

Reservoirs, ponds and lakes have an definite shoreline and beaches.

My Pond are down at least 3 feet, one is only 4' deep, so it may dry up.

Our swamp is dried up except for a small mud spot.

But the scariest thing is that our trees in the middle of August are loosing their leaves and wilting.

Please, no fires!

I hear ya. Same here. I live in the woods and I'm very concerned. Still no rain insight. Just more 90+ degree days.

Welcome to the fun of living in a drought. We do it all the time out here. At least every seven years or so.
