Must be bylaws in your area. Federally, you do not have to observe either of those statements.

Different continent Norway is a kingdom in Europe.

I guess it has more to do with environmental groups such as nature and youth and a number of other people without practical sense has been extensive lobbying and got predators to an almost sacred position in Norway. The result is that the wolf, Lynx, wolverine and bear can do almost whatever they want. The problem is that predator were almost extinct in Norway at the start of 1900 so most people have forgotten that they can be dangerous. Predators are largely protected by law today. A lone wolf is quite innocent but it starts to get a flock 5-6 or more as they begin to be rude when they have never experienced being hunted.
Sorry for the rant.

I had just recently read that Sweden and Finland had "high" levels of gun ownership, although they both had what Americans would consider very strict gun laws. Poland had one of the lowest gun ownership rates in Europe at 1 per 100 households. Czech Republic and Serbia had high levels compared to EU average. Romania I believe has very low as well. Wouldnt nations that had a recent history of oppressive goverments want to have less restrictive laws to help enforce their new found freedom? I guess its just a diffrent mind set.

Since there are members from all over the world on this site so I thought we could compare gun laws. Here are the rules in Norway.

In Norway you must first take the hunting proficiency test, then you must seek permission from the police before you get to buy weapons it requires that you have clean criminal record. Only place you can buy amo including what you need to reload amo is in special hunting / fishing stores, where it is required that you show up license for the weapon you have and you can not buy cartridges to other calibers than the weapon you have. there is also a limit to how many weapons you can have. Shotguns must be designed so you can not have more than two cartridges in it.
To own handgun and revolvers you must in addition be a member of a shooting club and when the gun is not in use, there has to be locked in the clubs safe.

So how does it work where you live?

I want to move to Norway. If only it wasn't so cold!

Well, it is kinda cold in Raleigh today and going to get worse tonight. Tis good "training" to get you used to Norway.:laughing::laughing:

The danged wind was so strong last night that a pile of firewood I just split and stacked was BLOWN over.

Gots to go out and redo the stack and split more wood.

Later,
Dan

Yikes! Thanks for sharing this... I just learned that Kitsap County prohibits the discharge of a firearm within 500 yards of any shoreline. Somehow though... I don't think that is going to persuade me from spending a round or two on the 4th of July!!! :D

The kids love to explore the woods and sound around my place... part of the reason is it is not full or poison oak... nothing better than wading through creek watching the salmon run and being a kid.

For this reason I'm not all that bothered by the ban... it did come as big surprise and was totally unexpected.

The wind woke all of us up last night also. FedEx had a delivery on the front gate, and when out Son got it, there were leaves frozen over the entire outer side of the Plastic Bag.
