Here they go by what your tires max load are,and what your tagged for. The trucks GVWR I dont think is even questioned.At the DMV when you buy tags they ask how much weight you want to carry,just pay for it!

Not here. If you get stopped you must be within the GVWR, axle ratings, tire ratings, and tag rating.
