I'm getting a JD 3710 with skid steer attachment on loader. I will get a Jd worksite pro 66" utility bucket. The bucket weighs 479# and has a heaped capacity of 20.5 cu ft. and struck capacity of 15.9 cu ft. Does anyone know the weight and capacity of a standard or heavy duty bucket in a similar size for JD. My Kubota 66" standard bucket on my 3710 weighs 305#.

Better get those tires filled. That is the same bucket I have on my JD 3320. I also have the tooth bar on my bucket and basically, when the dealer installed the bucket and skid steer mount, he called me and told me, when his 150lb (soaking wet) sales person stands in the bucket, the rear tires lift up. That was an additional $250 expense I wasn't planning on, however, I wouldn't trade the bucket or filled tires for the "standard JD HD bucket".

Hope that helps.

I assume you like the skid steer bucket a lot. Do you think the additional weight of the bucket is much of an issue? My Kubota 3710 bucket weighs 305# and less capacity. However, I have a skid steer adapter plate on the kubota loader and another adapter plate on the kubota bucket. The two plates plus the kubota bucket probably exceeds the weight of the JD skid steer bucket. The 3000 series however has a shorter wheel base than the kubota.

I don't plan on ballast at this time in the rear tires. I do some grass seeding with a 6' landpride seed and have a 6' aerator and don't want the extra weight on lawns. I did make an adapter for my 3 pt and can add 500# in suitcase weights or I can use my 84" gannon box blade which weighs over 1000#. My JD 3710 will also have a cab which I estimate gives 300# of weight.

I like the bucket a lot and like I said, I wouldn't trade it for the standard green bucket. What I really like is the heavy dutiness (is that a word). I had the green bucket while mine was still on order and I was using it to haul big, huge boulders and bent it in places. The new HD construction bucket weighs almost twice of the standard bucket and held up to the abuse extremely well. In addition to the toothbar, I also mount my grapple on the bucket when needed.

The reason for the additional counter weight is that the skid steer mount extends the bucket out an additional 4 inches, which moves the weight further out and probably reduces the lift capacity at times (I have run out).

What I like the best is the SS mount, I switch between bucket and forks all the time and like the fact that the implements are standard (just like the 3 point) and I can rent attachments if I need them. I rented forks before I bought them.

Hope that is the info you are looking for.

My skid steer adapters on the kubota probably extend out the bucket 10-12". Like you I like to use my pallet forks and hydraulic bobcat auger.
I use the pallet forks almost as much as the bucket. The hydraulic auger turns slow and the torque is slightly less due to lower hydraulic psi and flow rate. The higher flow rate and higher loader capacity was the reason I almost went to the 4000 series but I didn't want the physical bigger size.
