I am going to build a weight box for the rear of my Kubota L5030 and I am looking for some of the hanging weights to buy. Currently I have some commercial doors weights but need a bit more weight, anyone have a place on the web I could get the hanging weights from. I will be going to my Kubota dealer latter today, but want to have a little info under my belt first as I know that they can get a little expensive.

Thanks, Kevin

You might as well just stack 'money' on your 3pt.. Most suitcase weights are in the 90 cent or 1$ per pound range /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Us cheap people usually get a tub and fill it with cement.. etc.

Pardon my ignorance, but when would one use a weight box?

Thanks,

David

Most that have them use them for ballast when doing loader work.

How about you get a couple of 6' blondes and put them on your fenders for some counter weights. If 2 isn't enough, how about 4.

Seriously though, I use my box blade and have been known to put on some additional 45lbs plates over the top of the sacrificers that are raised to get more weight. This really comes in handy when moving a bucket full of boulders.

I had the septic man install an inspection port on my tank. The old concrete hatch that he removed is perfect for hanging on my 3pt cross drawbar with a hook. The hatches already have a handle embedded in the concrete so it is a ready-made weight. He dropped off an extra one he had on his truck during my service.
If I want more weight I just stack them.....

He said he had a lot of the hatches on his property so I could have whatever I wanted.

I use 2 foot long sections of RR track with cable hooks welded to them for hanging weights on my stuff.
