That does it - like many other towns - Portland, Oregon is a tough nut to crack. WoW! I had a '67 Bronco but it was a hideous Family Truckster green. Loved the Bronco - hated that color.

I had a couple of weird dreams last night. I assume we all have them so feel free to share yours.

Dream #1: I was doing something that involved having a tractor beside a fence and something I wanted pulled over the fence. (not clear on what it was) The tractor was John Deere green and had a half hood. The uncovered half of the hood had an exposed distributor cap with a coil position in the center and two plug wire positions on one side. I remember thinking it was strange for a diesel tractor to have a distributor cap. (none of the cap holes had wires plugged into them) At any rate I was standing behind the steering wheel and had a cow that I was coaxing to climb over the tractor and over the fence to pull whatever it was I wanted drug over the fence. The cow would climb over the hood and fence, get whatever it was, and climb back over the fence behind the tractor. On the third pass the cow stepped on the distributor cap and broke it. That ended the operation until the tractor could be repaired.

Dream #2: I stopped by a Harley Davidson dealer on my way to work and bought a new Sportster. It had a long tank with flat sides and top so it didn't look anything like a Sportster. I rode it around the corner a couple of blocks to where I was working at another Harley dealership. I was showing it to my co-worker/girlfriend and she ridiculed the way the bike looked. (not sure why I had a girlfriend) I couldn't stand the thought of having bought a NEW motorcycle that didn't look right so after work I tried to return it and cancel the contract. (I had financed it for 4 years)

Dream #1: You want to do something / accomplish a task, but your resources (equipment, ability), etc..is lacking or defective. You get a third party or outside assistance to literally step in and help, but it destroys what's left of your resources (equipment , ability, (confidence?))
..oh jeez, when I say this out loud....uhm....

Dream #2: Big new shiny throbbing machine between your legs....gets ridiculed...you give up...

hmmm, seeing a pattern here...uhmmm...

then again, Freud said "Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar", & sometimes a Harley is just a Harley.....

All joking aside the two strangest dream events is when you're working on something difficult then that night dream of the solution, next day that fixes it.
The other is dreaming of the future. Years ago my wife and I on vacation it saved our life. I remembered a dream 10 years earlier of a bad accident as I drove though a green light in a small town, T boned by an ambulance lights on, no sireen. I stopped for the green light remembering that dream, cars behind blowing horns, ambulance flying by exactly like dream. We would have been killed.

I did have a very unusual dream a few years ago.
We live on a ridge and there is a reasonably steep hill at the end of the road. In the dream I was standing at the top of the hill looking out over the valley and it was full of water.
Not a likely event, or so I thought.
A few months later we had an unusual thunderstorm event where two thunderstorms channeled all their water into the one area. We had a devastating inland sunami effect and the valley did indeed fill with water washing houses, shops and a pub away and drowning several people. Some people have never been found. Our local village was destroyed and after that they shifted the town to higher ground. Being on higher ground we were OK but unable to get supplies and as we had lost power, we lost all our frozen food etc. After a couple of days we managed to get to a emergency center in our buggy which could get through a half meter of water OK. They supplied meals for us all. Main roads were cut too so no supplies could be bought in.
You would not think it possible looking at it today. I will never forget that dream and take heed of similar in the future.

This is a video of the flood.

This is why we couldn't get out our road. Blocked at both ends.

Dreaming of flying (sans aircraft) was supposed to be a sign of insecurity, or so we were told at university and it is held as a common belief, in reality any number of people dream of flying and are quite secure and normal (whatever that means in the world of psychiatry) and many people I have had as clients have related to this, they can be a bit sheepish about it as they fear ridicule but I suspect that a lot who deny it actually experience it.
I have also dreamt of places I have never been nor knew existed and have arrived there some months or years later and recall it vividly.
Unfortunately I have never had a dream about winning lottery numbers or they were out of focus.

I'm guessing that doen't include "out of body" flying.

Suggest Carl Jung instead.

I drove it for many many years, i wish i still had. My sister just bought a 67 in running condition from someplace in south cali. Not much rust, one of the pickup style ones, she paid $10k for it!

I've had this "dream" so often I actually "use" it. I have a problem/situation that needs resolution. I go to bed thinking of this problem. In a dream I come up with the solution. The following day the dream provides the answer.

I seldom have a dream. go to bed around 10:30- and wife says I'm asleep in three breaths , seems like sometimes not going to sleep and the alarm is ringing at 5:30 in the morning. But the wife dreams she says in color. One dream she awoke me to ask why did I purchase a Mihindra tractor. it was so vivid she had to look toward tractor shed and see the light on over a John Deere.

Used to have a job with frequent call outs. and would some times drive for hours toward the area . would by thinking of small amount information given to the problem be able to walk to control cabinet and replace a contact relay and problem solved.

Years ago driving toward N.Mex. and Arizona line on I-10 around 3 in the morning . speed limit was what ever your car could maintain .(Before Jimmy Carters dream of shortage of oil). I was on inside lane and going 80? and heard and audible voice say Change Lanes .I did and immeaditly met a vehicle coming toward me high rate of speed also. he was traveling the wrong directon on high way. if had not changed lanes would of been a head on wreak.
Started to think of finding another place of employment . 40 hours of standred work time and 40 of overtime . no time for family.

That would be quite convenient. I manufacture problems in my dreams, and I can never solve them. The problems are never legitimate, and they are usually complete nonsense. I seem to lack the capacity for rational thought in most of my dreams.

It's how TESLA came up with the power sytem that run virtually our entire world.

Personally, I think the information might have been more a case of being chanelled.

Well - I admit, sometimes the "solution" is pretty hair brain. Then, some of my project fit that description also.

Many years ago my wife and I took parapsychology classes at a local community college. One guest speaker was a dream therapist. She said the key is before sleeping look at your hands, knowing you will have a lucid dream. You're in control. That helped us dream but knowing we're in control.
Lots of dreams are crazy nonsense but can have symbolism.
A side note, don't know if it's true, a fellow told me if you smoke pot you don't dream. (That's reason #347 why we don't smoke dope...please no offence to anyone who does, I don't know if it's even true!).

Fuddy1962 Assuming your and expert on dreams. Don't smoke anything. sometimes a chicken in a BBQ cooker.
Don't use strong drinks although maybe a 12 pack of BARG's Root Beer. a year. including some one else getting a few and this at noon meal when company is present.

Try to get my 8 hours of work in by noon. short nap, and then another 8 hours of getting done what ever needs fixen.
Can count my life long dreams by number less than 10.
But at close to 84 or by Bird's method it comes to 16.6 Lustrums.

Have a good day. ken
