I have been able to see images from people that have posted them in this thread earlier, so perhaps the settings have been fixed now?

Overall the look is good, a little cleaner looking and the new image features are much better (assuming they all work correctly...). I don't see any real negatives yet, but I'll do more exploring and see how it goes...

Image issues appear to be an issue related to our server change (DNS propagation). Should resolve within 48 hours. Until then, might be spotty in terms of some images being broken links.

Everything looks pretty similar, but seems different...not unexpected, and I'm already getting used ti it.

Our old software was extremely out of date. The developer sold it off and the new owner retired it years ago. We were painted into a corner, unable to upgrade our server hardware or software and patch known security holes, because the old software wouldn't work on new server software. We limped it along for several years after the writing was on the wall.

To put it bluntly, we were a sitting duck website. One hack or hard drive failure and we would have had to perform this upgrade in an emergency manner, probably lose a lot of data (think about having 550,000 permanently broken images) and have several days of downtime. Since our database has been migrated several times already, the artifacts left behind from those past migrations became problems, which took the better part of a year for us to sort out and finally get a reliable path to this latest migration. Otherwise it would have been upgraded long ago.

Another big issue was that we basically had to stop all development of new features due to the old software being abandoned. So that meant other parts of our website started to fall apart, like the articles, classifieds, and reviews, because they were all custom built and tied into the old software. Now we can regroup and begin developing new features again.

I think once everybody gets used to it they will find that we didn't lose any features but we gained a bunch that will be very useful.

I had a message or alert to provide feedback. When I clicked to do so, I got "ERROR 404" or something and it kicked me out. Wasn't able to find the feedback message again.

I miss the dropdown near the bottom of the page that would allow me to jump from place to place like from "Buying and Pricing" to "Projects".

Change always takes some adjustment.

OK I marked all forums read. When I go to Watched it shows everything starting with the first post in the thread. So I have to move to the end of each thread to read the latest post.

The old My Home feature did not show all Watched. It only showed subscribed threads with new posts, and then automatically took me to the newest post. I dont see either of those capabilities in the Watched list.

It's a 2-for-1 display. It displays all watched (aka subscribed) threads and then when there are new posts, they are highlighted in yellow and will jump you to the latest post.

Since you just marked all forums read, only the threads with new posts from that point forward will be marked as having new post. But those will jump you to the latest new post in that thread. That's what should have happened if you clicked to this thread from the watched link. Let me know.

Check it now. That white space shouldn't have been there in the first place. Some rogue code got in.

Having marked everything as read, now I'm getting the same behavior as in the My Home feature of the past. That's gonna make life a lot simpler, and I'm feeling a lot better about this upgrade.

For many years I was helping an old Joomla based site that fell to pieces every time either PHP or Joomla updated. Young bloods moved it over to Wordpress, which obsoleted my ability to help, and I gratefully surrendered the reins. Hope these initial potholes/learning curve experiences smooth out quickly, and I'm looking forward to a brighter future.

If I could dream, I'd wish for a Watched dropdown that showed the threads with new content right in the dropdown. Now that would be slick.
