In addition to everything else, the new site is actually a higher resolution than the old one. So basically our old avatars are like video tapes but we're playing them on high definition screens. Time to update the avatars with larger images do they're sharper.

What is the size limit now?

Your arrow on the right side of the screen to go to the top,
I have to start to scroll up for it to appear.
It would be nice if it was always available and traveled with the screen.
Or even nicer would be an up arrow for the top of the page and a down arrow to go to the bottom of the page.

I agree, I find myself scrolling too much. I'll add that to the list.

Try the Home and End keys on your keyboard if you're using a PC.

On mine, they do what you're seeking.

And there is a feature request thread: Coming soon list

Or would you just keep that old truck and hope it doesn't give out, despite the mechanic's advice?
To replace my 20 year old F250 would cost me over $50K. I hope the new CMS TBN's running on now wasn't quite that expensive... :ROFLMAO:

Unlike software, though, the aftermarket has been great about coming up with improved parts to fix all the things the factory didn't get quite right. And Forums like this one can tell shade tree mechanics all they need to know to keep those old trucks (and cars and motorcycles, and...) running just fine.

Doesn't work that way with computers and software, though. With those, it's life in the bleeding edge or perish. How else do you think the tech giants got so rich?🤬

I feel so fortunate we've got a pair of young Turks here that love life on the learning curve and can keep the cyber wheels from falling off the ol' TBN wagon.👍👍👍👏👏👏

I helped with the upgrade, naturally. Actually, I googled 4 different errors in the middle of the upgrade yesterday to find out what to do. Sure enough, problems solved.

But forums are where the answers are. Sites like Facebook or Twitter or Instagram are great for sharing a picture or comment, but there isn't any real useful content-- and if it is, it's nigh impossible to find!

Give me a forum with a search functionality and I'm happy.

I never did get my head around how Joomla worked. Even bought and read the Nutshell book.

Hate to admit it, but I was 40 years younger when I started coding. Twenty years seems like a blink of an eye.

BTW, Ibrahim, Is it safe to assume you were in cahoots with Muhammad in pulling off the TBN migration? If so, thanks a million, and well done.

But don't be restin' on your laurels too long; all the edit tools (bold, emojis, etc.) look like they're disabled now. ;)

Oh, are you saying the rich text controls are disabled for you? So you can't just click bold or press ctrl+b to get bold text? (Screenshots are always helpful!)

There is a lot behind the scenes in terms of permissions we can set for users (individually AND via groups) for almost every feature. So it's quite possible something is turned off. Keep posting here if you have any issues!

Image changes are a little slow right now because of the DNS change with our CDN.

Basically, we all upload the images to our TBN server, and then when we access it, our CDN checks to see if 1) it has the image and 2) if the image on our server is the same as the one it has. If those are both true, it sends you the image it has (which, conceivably, should be faster than our server) but if it's not the same, it will request the new image and then show you that.

But it doesn't check EVERY time. Because most of the time, avatar images don't change, neither do the images people attach to their posts. So maybe it checks once every hour. Or maybe four times a day. Sometimes your own ISP does the SAME THING (sending you cached images to save their own bandwidth and speed up your access) but maybe your ISP only checks for updates every 2 hours. Depending on when people update their images, you might get a new image RIGHT AWAY, or maybe 2 hours (or tomorrow!)

The Internet works, but we definitely all do a LOT more on it than we thought we would 20-30 years ago!

tldr: If you change an image and it's not immediately updated across all your devices, just give it 24-48 hours. If it's still an issue, let us know and we'll help try to figure it out!
