I took my scraper blade to a local shop and got it all welded up.
The hitch was $55 and I think he worked too cheap.
I think the shop rate is about $30/hour and it took at least 3 hours.
I took a second piece in to get it welded and he was gonna charge me $15.
But he is gonna take it trade for some CAD drawing he needs done.
When I get done I'm gonna come out way ahead in this deal.
The CAD drawing is real simple and I told him I would do it for nothing.
But he insisted that he pay me (real well too) cause nobody else would
even talk to him about drawing the part.
Take the job to him if you can.
Have it completely ready. All fitted up, cleaned, and ready to weld.
The more you do yourself the better you will come out in the end.
I had my stuff ready to weld. I even tack welded it all up in position.
All he had to do was lay down beads of weld where it needed.
And he did cut out a big circle for me with a plasma cutter.
The whole project came out real nice. I have a little grinding to do
just to smooth out a couple of spots and it needs painted.
I have already had it on the tractor and put it thru a good bit of work.
After I get it painted I will post pictures of it. Or maybe before, depends.
I had to look up Goodlettsville to see how close you are to me.
You're closer to Alan so you might want to go see him.
Wish I could have but it would have been an overnight trip at least for us.
