In 2006 there have been 33 threads started about welding in 13 different forums generating over 350 replies. In several of the forums the poster say something like: "I don't know if this is the place to post this...".

I know that because of my TRACTOR I became interested in welding and got my first information from Tractorbynet because I trust the knowledgeable people that frequent here.

I know Countrybynet has a Fabrication Forum which includes welding and during the year generated 5 threads about welding. However these TRACTORS and attachments and TRACTOR projects have specific needs and general welding questions which come naturally in the course of owning a TRACTOR. The general comments and questions in the TRACTOR forums have included information on Welders, Rods, Classes, Metals, Helmets, etc... relating to use on TRACTORS.

Would you please consider a welding forum as it relates to tractors so all this information will be all in one area.

Thank you, Don.

I disagree. With several very excellent welding project forums on the net (yes, they also have had tractor projects) why start another? When I want welding info I go to a place where I can get the best advice possible. In my view, that clearly ain't here, for welding at least.

Once TBN starts to have forums for everything like welding then why not have one for pickup trucks or gardening which are other frequent topics.

I, and I'm sure others, come here to TBN to discuss tractors. When it just becomes another off-topic discussion area then it looses it's unique advantage in that it's about tractors. Another tractor forum on the net did just that (start topics for every little thing) and it has now become just an off-topic discussion forum.

TBN has too many forums already.

That's another reason I suggested a general tool forum. I somewhat agree that to get the most info on welding go to a welding forum, but there are times when tractor folk share what works, rather than asking something on a welding forum and getting an answer you sometimes may not understand.
