Opinions on any in specific? Are they manageable to wear in 70-80* weather?

I'm looking to buy one.

They do make some that a fire-proof cloth;lighter duty than the leather ones.Better than getting burned.I have lots of scars from welding and always wore proper protection.

I have Tillman cotton jackets that use Proban FR-7A burn resistant fabric.

It depends, does your welding mean the difference between groceries on the table or not!
I like the fabric jacket or just sleves.

For overhead welding I like leather cape sleeves combo>>>>> AP-2188/8188 FR Full Cowhide Leather Welding Cape Sleeves W/ 2" Bib Set | eBay

For flat welding I like wearing a flame retardant welding shirt like from Black Stallion>>>> black stallion welding jacket | eBay but this is only needed for high production welding, 10-60 lbs wire per day, for banging around the shop, anything flame retardant will work, usually 100% cotton shirt.
Just put the Black Stallion (blue color) on my xmas list!

For over head in hot weather I have been using one like the one listed above for years. Great set up.
AP-2188/8188 FR Full Cowhide Leather Welding Cape Sleeves W/ 2" Bib Set | eBay

For normal odds and ends and general use I use a cloth one. Similar to

Black Stallion FR Jacket #F9-36C | TurGard F9-36C 2 Welding Jacket | Welding Safety Apparel | Shop Welding Supplies Online | Welders Supply Company Beloit-Big Bend-Burlington Wisconsin and Rockford, Illinois

Recently bought a bit of a mixed used jacket for colder weather and for warm weather when I need some heavier duty protection. I got the bib for it so it makes it a very flexible set up. Had to do some repairs on a razor wire covered fence and iI needed it in a bit of a hurry and so paid a bit extra for it out of the welding shop supply house. Similar ones i am sure can be found online for less. So far I really like it.

P.S. the comment on if its used to help put food on the table is absolutely correct. If its a paycheck it sure does change ones outlook on comfort.

Welding jacket? Awwww just toss on your finest ancient cotton sweat shirt. Treasure it dearly and for around the shop it will last a couple years of routine repairs . After a few months mine usually look like somebody patterned bird shot on them:D but they still keep going.
Somebody just recently gave me an old carhart jacket to work in. That’s sort of spark proof......

I have a old thick cotton camo button up shirt I throw on now. But the spatter sometimes still pops on it and burns through. So it had me thinking about buying a leather welding jacket to just throw on when I weld. Kinda a Christmas gift to my self. Didn't know if any of y'all used them and preferred one over another.

No don't need it for a living, just a hobbyist for welding around the house or farm.

Even when I was a production welder; never wore a leather jacket. If doing a lot of overhead I used a cape and sleeves. Never could stand the gauntlet gloves either. Due to safety requirements we issued jackets to all welders, within 1/2 day they were all piled in the corner. Now for my incidental work I use a cotton flannel shirt, jeans, and drivers gloves. Guys I knew used to were cotton jersey gloves so they could feel things. I think full leather is a waste of $. Will buy a lot of shirts and jeans. I had one welder in the crew that wore a cotton undershirt only when working inside. Looked like well bubbled swiss cheese and his body had lots of burn specks.

My favorite improvised welding shirt was a green cotton army fatigue shirt similar to the one Forrest Gump wore in the movie. I don't think they make them anymore.

Some of the guys i used to work around just used kinda heavy denim shirts. They kept them with a really heavy starch from the dry cleaners. Most of the splatter just bounced or rolled off. Not as good as a welding jacket i guess but it worked for them.

When it's hot out. I like a Tilman Suede bib apron and black stallion sleeves. But then again, I don't have any real issues with spatter.

I looked into this cause I run super hot. Not sexy hot, yet I totally am hot but the hot like my BP is too darn high and I will die from being so overweight any moment hot. So ended up with a BSX that is fine.. I don't do truck stuff so getting burned isn that high, just ruining shirts drove my wife crazy.

I will say look into a carhardt catalogue, they have a lot of stuff hidden away in the flame retardent world that I would consider next time around.

I have a welding jacket. What they sometimes call a Kenora Dinner Jacket. An old shredded plad jacket. I set myself on fire twice last fall welding some heavy galvanized bolts.

I do have a leather apron/bib that I put on if I want to weld something quickly in good clothes.

I just bought my first welding blanket. Maybe I should cut a hole in it and use it as a poncho.

One thing I learned over the years is beware of these nice warm fuzzy mixed fabric shirts, a few little sparks can set the shirt on fire. After a few spots of weld I almost had to do the stop drop and roll once, the sleeve lit right up but fortunately just some slap rap and tap put the flame out.
