More on the welding angle positioner please.

Little project I finished a week or so ago. My version of the Kindling Kracker.

Here's the Northern Tools version, which is where I first saw it last Fall:

I was able to split this from Yellow Pine in about 10 minutes, not including stacking it into the cutoff barrel:

That stack lasted me about 2 weeks or until this morning; so I'll be splitting some more today. The "edge" is cutoff of a Toyota truck leaf spring. I made no effort to worry about heat treatment etc other than ensuring I didn't overheat the edge while grinding it down on my grinder.

I sourced everything from my shop scrap pile, except for the green ring. That's a 1"-1 1/4" cutoff of a high pressure cylinder from the local welding shop. They sawed it off for me for $10.

Looking good. I've been going to make one too. I pop down black cherry for the smoker and other hardwoods to boil maple syrup. Looks like yours works great.

That would be a perfect gift for an old couple I know who heat with wood exclusively. Ill have to make them one!
