I just wish it wasnt 1k a process... spending that much already it would be nice if you could plug modules in to the welder and not have to reproduce halft the machine for every process :/ i could see 100-500 per process to add stuff like foot pedel controls for tig but a whole new machine that can be used seperate is just frustrating

I know what your saying but it's like one time when you bought a home stereo. It came as one complete unit. When one part went down you had to send the full unit back for servicing. If my welding equipment were like that I'd be shut down as soon as something gave up and quit. That's why I buy Miller. In 20 years of using there gear I've never had to return home because of an equipment failure.
The way it is now I can be tigging or migging in the shop and if I get a call to do some mobile welding I grab it and go. There's no one system that I know of that will do the quality work of each individual welding outfit like I have here. My business isn't strictly welding and yes it's expensive to get into but to do it right I had to spend what I spent.
Well,it ain't cheap,but you get what you pay for generally speaking,,,but will say you can get a decent welder generator[stick welder] for the same or less than you can buy a good ac/dc buzz box and a good generator.
If you want to tig as well as stick,it won't cost that much more to be able to do that,you don't need a remote foot peddle and you don't need hi/freq.
Now if you want to mig and stick and tig,you'll need to spend more,,thats the way it works with everything.
But,there are other ways to go,buzz box,220 mig,generator,and whatever else you want,piece at a time.
If you don't need a mig,no need to buy one,if you don't need to tig,no need to get the tig rig and argon bottle,etc. You don't have to buy it all at once,,if you can stick weld,,than you can do most things,if you have an oxy/act torch set up,you can cut mild steel,bend stuff,etc...so thats where you should start,than add stuff as needed.
But if you want the works,its going to cost you 5-6 grand or more.Unless you want to try and have it all on the cheap,,which is generally not a good idea.
Maybe you could buy a used gen welder...

In my work all in the field on construction jobs I used a HF 110 welder for years replaced it every 2 yeas when I burned it up but for $ 89 dollers it worked for me I only weld on 16 and 20 ga metal any heaver and it just won't work. TThere is no 220 on the construction sites.
keep your eye out for a used XMT304 cc/cv. they can be had for around 1k if you are patient. they stick weld like a dream. And its not too expensive to throw a torch and petal on them for tig later if you want. Same for a wire feeder, carbon arc torch.
