Austin Healey 3000 1959............Classic sports car...........looked like it was going fast when standing still..........no big ugly chrome or wings.............no massive wasted metal........just smooth lines...beautiful to drive............heard they are going to start making them again..........here's hoping

Oh yeah, the Bugeye Sprite! 36 mpg, when they ran, which was somewhat less than half the time. If you bought a British sports car back then, it came with a butler in greasy coveralls.

I think the two ugly-ducklin' Chevy cars of the 50s were the '58 and '59 Chevrolets. The '58 was ugly, but the '59 was horrendous. It's funny, but the slight difference of the '60 Chevy from the '59 made a world of improvement in my opinion. I always liked the '53 thru '56 Fords also.

Interesting. I think the classiest looking pickup ever made was the 1958 Chev Apache.

Porsche 907. Saw one in Dodge City at a gas station. Extremely good looking chick was driving it. Well, that is sixties car but that what I would want.

'52 Pontiac chieftain. Had one at 16, sold it for a pickup, and have wanted it back ever since. That was a beautiful car, just a real classy look.

I owned several 50's cars in a period of the early seventies, not sure how it happened that way. They were a '55 Plymouth Belvedere, '56 Chevy 210, '58 T-Bird and a '58 Pontiac Chieftan. The Pontiac was by far the best, fastest and to me, best looking of the group. With the 370 Tri Power it was far faster than the 352/300 T-Bird. It handled surprisingly well and rode great.

Wouldn't it be great if you could just drop one of those Fifties bodies and interiors on a modern chassis with EFI, radial tires, antilock brakes, modern suspension, etc? Yeah, I know a lot of hot rodders do that, but the work involved takes forever and costs way too much.

There is help. Get a kit car replica. 30000 and six months of fun in the shop will fix you up. The replicas are better than originals. Google kit car.

My parents got a year old 63 SS327 4sp Impala in '64 when I was a year old. I remember when I was 7 or 8, my Mom and Aunt street racing... My Mom could power shift that 4spd like a champ. For a larger car, it moved out pretty well with that 327... Her and my Aunt would giggle after blowing some guys doors off...

traded on 64 impala, a good car.
