What 50's era car would you want to have?

When I was young and we saw a 59 Chevy in front of us with its slanted red eyes glowing, we said it reminded us of an Asian she-devil.

When I was younger, I thought the cats-eye tail lights and fins were weird, but the older I got, the more cool they seemed. Those are the MOST distinctive tail lights ever put on any American car. I always wished GM could have added the "sequential" turn signal feature like the Thunderbirds had...now THAT would have been the ultimate....

And if I remember right, that model had dual carbs on a 6 cylinder.

Yup, the Chevys were simple to work on. A few wrenches, tach & dwell, timing light, and you could tune one up to run like a bat out of ..., and the tuneup would last for at least 3 or 4 days.:thumbsup:

Straight six flathead and there is some race history with this car from the fifties but I dont have the details as I only moved the car to a garage for repairs to the six volt electrics, Twin carbs yes but this one had I think a twin choke downdraught instead. not very sure though
