The one with the trailer is a Iseki A 300, the other one a german Gutbrod Puma 800.

You guys across the pond have all the neat 2 wheelers,,,, I like the looks of that Iseki, is it gas or diesel?

/ What can an old 2 wheeler do? #28
All Gas, JS.
Fuel,is much expensiver then overthere in US ( around 5$/gallon) but for this 2 wheelers it isnï½´t really a problem, cause they are economical to run. For sure, wife has a car, I own 2 Vans, all of them are Diesel.

Yes, Youï½´re right. We have a lot of walkbehinds offered here and often they go for cheap, when used. The 2 wheelers are better for the smaller spaces overhere. In village we have 10 2wheelers running. 6 of them are mine.

Well Mac I have a 12hp Gravely and over in my neck of the woods my neighbors think I'm mentally unstable for owning one, let alone using it. So just to affirm their suspicions I cut the entire 4 acres at least once a year with the 30" deck. And during the winter I use the snowblower on my drive while my CUT sits outback with a snowplow mounted and ready just in case, but unless something happens to the Gravely I dont use the CUT. The 2 wheeler is my most used machine except in the middle of summer when it get to hot and then I ride to cut the grass

I would prefer this kind of doing work, too!

This pic was taken this May, when we worked for a customer at 2ft high grass, too much work for doing it with the BCï½´s.

UnfortunatelyI have made no pics of the mowing Job.

After 30+ years with the Gravely I can tell you that it is not a machine for the "walk behind with one hand on the handle!" It is a real machine that cuts brush, plows fresh sod into a garden, blows a 15" snow and just keeps on going. That kind of versatility and power is not a toy. Still running with mine and I bought it in 1975.

A better question would be, " What can't a 2 wheel Gravely do? " With about 200 attachments, there wasn't much. Mowers ranged from 30", 40", 50", and 60" plus a 42" sickle bar and a flail mower. Also reel mowers that could be ganged to get wider cuts. Cultivator Toolholder could plow, cultivate, and hill depending on the tools you have. Rotary plow to open up the garden and then use the Rotary Cultivator to break up the soil. Posthole drilling and tree planting. Roof material removal. Spraying. Chainsaw, 36", big and dangerous. Circular saw, 28", also big and dangerous. AC generator. Water pump. Belt drive attachment so you could build whatever you wanted to belt drive. Riding Cart. Riding and Steering Sulkys. Tires in various sizes with duals available in most cases. HP from 5.5 to 16 HP as built. Safety features or OSHA be gone.

I have a BCS because a good used Gravely could not be found. It is a shame market forces pushed Gravely out of business. I wonder if any Company has thought about bringing Gravely back?

Man, I love this site! So much Gravely talk. I have owned 4 L tractors over the last 15 years or so and now have decided to sell the entire Gravely collection that I have.

Not trying to hijack the thread but just thought I would put it out there if anyone is interested. I live in Knoxville Tn area. I just bought a compact tractor and wish to sell the Gravely to make room in my garage. I will miss the ole' girl. If there was ever a workhorse out there she was it. I would take $1000 for all of it. You can see everything that is included from tiller to sicklebar to planter. I hate to put in on the net ( you know where ) to sell it but it has to go.

Sorry if I robbed the posting. I will put this in the classified section with a few more pics also.

It is a very clean, maintained tractor and not junk.

farm,, Gravely is still in business and offers a 2 wheel tractor, however in my opinion it is way over priced, 9000 for the smallest one and around 14000 for the bigger ones, and the are rebadged Rapids. The machine looks nice, is a hydro like to have one but just to much cash for a 2 wheeler.

Like I said in another post, one could buy a large green garden tractor, deck, and snowblower for the price of the larger two models without any attachments. I haven't seen pricing for the attachments but I would assume they cost as much or more than the attachments for my CUT. I like my 2 wheeler, use it as often as my other equipment, but I just can't justify the pricing of a new one, Gravely or BCS. Most of the work here is mowing and the cost verses the amount of ground covered in x time just doesn't work out for me, and every year I find myself walking a little less and opting for a seat.

Thanks for the update on Gravely. IKES the only model they list is 20HP @ $14839.00 with out any attachments. JS5020 you are right I bet the extras are out of sight. These are probably very nice 2 wheelers since they are made in Switzerland, but the pricing is beyond my ability to buy.

Just contacted a dealer listed on Gravely's web site and they said they have never sold one and have not had anyone ask for one.

They also have a 9hp or 13hp,,, I forget but it is suppose to be able to use the older attachments, it's around 9000 if I remember correctly.

My big problem here, as I said in an earlier post is most of the work done here is mowing,,,, and mowing 4 acres with a walkbehind is a lot of walking!! I do occasionally do the whole 4 with the com 12 if I'm really bored, but in the middle of August with the sun beatin on ya it's not often! The big job the 2 wheeler has for the rest of the year is snow removal, that is if it snows enough, I like to use the blower to get rid of the snow,,, but I do have a 6 foot blade on the CUT also, so for what I use the 2 wheeler for I can't justifiy a new one at the prices. Then there is the effort thing,,, ride for a few hours and never break a sweat, or walk for a day or so to get the same amount of work done.

Just a little added info. It is only the 9HP unit that can take the older attachments with an adapter. Gravely decided to stop selling the 2 wheel gear driven ones as they said they couldn't sell them at $5K. Now they expect to sell the hydro drives at $9K and up? Local dealer hasn't even ordered one in. And for $10K, I'd rather have a 90th Anniv. Edition 2 wheeler.
