Lotsa providers "give" you a new cell phone every year or so but you pay for it with higher plan costs. Everybody knows this of course and some folks just gotta have the latest and greatest. I really don't care. Before I got the Mint service I needed to get a newer cell phone to work with my hearing aids. So I bought a new old stock Samsung Galaxy S20. It was the cheapest cell phone that would work with my new hearing aids. The phone itself must be at least 6 years old. The display is remarkable in it's clarity and color rendition and resolution. I can't imagine how much better they can get,but surely it will be improved. Nevertheless it is plenty good enough for me, takes great pictures and video, and cost 200 bucks. A one time cost. So If a person wants a cheap plan and doesn't want the latest and greatest then why not buy an older but still new phone? I am quite happy with my phone, it works well with my hearing aids, takes great pictures, a feature I hardly ever use, and is mine. And if I upgrade it will be a Samsung S21 and will probably cost only about 200 bucks because I won't be buying another phone until I break my phone.
