Yessir. Laminating. The wood is actually submerged in the hot water tank.

I planted buckwheat Labor Day for hunting over. Plowed it Saturday so it can lay out until next summer when I plant something else for deer season. Buckwheat worked okay but first frost got it and it was done.

The disk was over at the farm and I brought it home when I brought the plows back is the only reason it is on the trailer.

I have done a bit of steam bending and bend three time to break down the lignin so it doesn't come back, bend the way you want then the opposite3 way then back the way you want, found it reduces a lot of movement in the future.
My steamer was really sophisticated, a 2 litre olive oil tin with a copper pipe soldered on sitting on a gas burner, plastic water pipe with a rag stuffed in each end, wide enough to take whatever I was bending, looked pretty rough but it worked well.

They are for use on saddles. Ours is very sophisticated :laughing:. A stainless steel tank about 3'x4' and 3' tall with a heating element. Submerge the laminates til hot enough to bend.

Fun times. I work for a pump rental company. So it can get interesting. Had a customer beg me to go look some equipment that they own out on a jobsite.

Drove 2.5 hrs one way just to tell their employee to fill the unit up with hydraulic fluid and to get it in deeper water.

The employees boss was pretty hot. Bet he went through the roof when he got my bill


Had a hydraulic submersible that was locked up. Guess the customer didn't realize that rope wasn't something that it could handle.

Did get my 300 gallon tote of DEF fluid in. Held off hooking up the pump till I could get some more hose for the dispenser. I wanted to be able to reach outside with the nozzle incase the bay had equipment in it.

We are getting DEF fluid for half the price of what it costs at the.pump at the truck stop.

Looks good now but wait until the always present spillage coats everything with white powder. DEF is liquid urea and di-ionized water and when the water evaporates, the crystalized urea remains.

I have zero work issues, I'm retired. Only work here is farm work and that presents it's own issues.

Gearbox and PTO shaft are made, now to make a shield for the shaft. The gears came out of an angle head for a Dremel tool.
