That looks super nice. I can't believe someone doubted the strength of tractor hydraulics. LOL.

you know after the first scoop, and knowing I'd need it anyway, I went ahead and hooked up the box blade to give me a little counter ballast.

And thanks, I like the way this looks. This is best put down in the summer when it's hot and the tar in the asphalt can melt a little and stick it together, but it's also way cheaper than regular driveway gravel. I got these two loads for just about $100 more than ONE load of regular gravel would have been. The part I'm showing here is a new driveway, and I wanted to put it thick and pack it in, there's already been a couple loads of base put on over the last 8 or 9 months

That was my question. Also what would happen if it was spray sealed after laying and packing for a few weeks.

I used to work at a local power plant and we used the asphalt millings for the roads and pathways around there. We never used a sealer because in summer time, the millings pack in tight. We had a decent crown built in, but water always ran right off and the millings didn't wash away. Most of the traffic was cranes, semi-trucks, dump trucks, front end loaders and back-hoes. Those roads held up very well and stayed smooth if the millings were laid right.

Used the LS for more work on a new shooting berm. 20181106_165157.jpg

I agree Air8, the key is getting them laid in right. I am going to top it again in the summer with another load, in between now and then, I want to see if I can find a steel wheel roller I can borrow or rent and get it packed in really well

I am cooking 11 boston butts for a fund raiser for my wife's cousin who has to fly to CA and have surgery. Ins won't cover the trip or where she'll stay the first 10 days until she qualifes for help from the hospital, so today, I used my tractor and new pallet forks to move my crate of cherry smoking wood to the carport where the grills are set up

Hope surgery goes as planned for her.

I love them forks.

Doing a bit of evening burn so I'll have coals in the morning to continue with.

I've got a couple of brush piles to burn too, but I'd never do them at night. I know people claim it's safer due to lower winds, but my ground is so uneven I'd never be able to move around effectively at night to maintain the pile. It's tricky enough in daylight to keep from messing up an ankle or knee.

here in GA burn permits clearly state from dawn to dusk, and any fire not out by dark is supposed to be put out

Spent about 3-4 hours clearing the drive and road from the 39 1/2" of snow over 3 days. The piles are from 5-6' high. They go all the way to the end, about 1500' worth. That was a lot of snow, but nice seat time. I'm definitely going to think about getting a plow. The bucket by bucket pushing and dumping took a while.

Very nice job. If a lot of snow was a regular occurrence, I think I would invest in a front mount snow blower. That is a whole Winters worth where I live.
